Last Night in Old Town

by John Osebold

Last Night in Old Town

I may never again see
The lights of Old Town
For I am leaving tonight
And getting experimental eye surgery
So I won't be seeing much for a while

I shall miss the imperfect houses
The trodden pathways
The long evenings
But not so much the people
Most of them are super judgey

Perhaps one day I will return
But 'tisn't likely
For I ran up an unpaid tab in every bar
And now the police are looking for me
Farewell, ye Old Town
