You probably think we get all of the crap we sell from desperate manufacturers or wholesalers, anxious to convert their mountain of unsold inventory to a molehill of pennies. And yeah, that's how we started out. But to save money and to ensure quality (and to provide a ridiculous contest theme for this week), we started growing our own. Yeah, Roombas are great, but iif you haven't had one fresh off the vine, you haven't really lived. Your challenge this week:
Show us a scene from Woot Farms, where we grow all of the products we sell.
If agriculture isn't setting you on fire, feel free to depict the products as livestock, dairy products, or anything else that's "farmed" in the generally-understood sense of the word. Still need more guidance? We don't have any to give. It's an online photo-editing contest, for crying out loud. You'll figure it out.
Post your entry here by 11:59 AM CST on Monday, March 30, 2009. Prizes are $20/$50/$100 for 3rd/2nd/1st. The rules and criteria for winning: our panel of volunteer judges can and will make stuff up as it goes along. Use Photoshop, linoleum blocks, pastels, MSPaint, cave painting, tattoos, tribal scarification, whatever, but it’ll only be judged if it’s visible in our forums as a jpg, gif, or png. As we are fond of saying, try to keep your maximum width to 450px. If you need a place to host your pictures, try www.imageshack.ws or www.photobucket.com. We have no connection to either, but they seem free and easy to use. And if you want us to be sure your entry was indeed your work, post links to your source images. The more sure we are that you did your own work, the more likely we are to consider it for a prize.
