I think, back when I first got here, they ended a Woot-Off with a braggard of cormorants. I got to my machine long after the said item appeared, and the lights were going. And my heart raced. Why is it that a dude made a computer virus that caused everyone to log onto twitter at the same time which crashed the server BUT woot can still sell 1,499 bags of scaffolding in a minute with 10,000+ people bombarding their servers, and shake it off nothing even happened.

I think they're keeping the flashy lights on to show that there *was* a wootoff; they'll go away at midnight (6 minutes!) That's just my guess.

Different servers can handle different loads.

I tried for 50 minutes to log in today and finally was able to and was 1 minute too late to buy what I wanted.

They still haven't gotten the capacity to serve all the users who bombard them during a woot off.
