Oh wow...and I paid $250 for mine; though, it was the Halo 3 Edition :D.

I have to say, this is a nice device and at this price, it is TOTALLY worth the money.

It's not Mac compatible but hopefully that's not a big downer (it was for me :/).

The device does a lot but isn't compatible with iTunes. The interface is nice and more advance than the iPod but lacks the click-wheel that made the iPod famous. If you don't care about iTunes compatibility, I would get the Zune at this price because: 1. It is $100 cheaper than the iPod, 2. It has a bigger screen, and 3. It doesn't scratch up easily unlike the back of the iPod ;).

Not such a huge savings for not such a good product. You can buy from ebay about the same price: new - but again... who would want to?

Awesome deal. Great product. I've had my Zune for 10 months now, and I love it. The bigger screen makes watching movies on it more comfortable than an iPod. Why support Apple? I don't.

Does this do mpeg-4 with b frames ? Also can the view be changed to watch landscape like those insignias ?

Here's the Zune support site. No point in downloading the manual; it's basically just the warranty, which is also on the website.

Even though I like the interface and don't like Apple all that much....there needs to be a 50+ GB version.

I'll stick with my iPod and don't see why anyone would buy a Zune, but if anybody was already in the market for one, this is a terrific price.

anyways, say what you will about the zune, it's a really good first attempt. Bigger screen = terrible on battery life though

It's a good deal if you like music players that aren't very popular.
And have trouble playing some songs.
And that delete transferred music in three plays or three days.
If you can find another user that is.

wow, I have a Zune and love it. I love it so much more then my old 5.5G iPod that I returned to get it. Its slightly larger size is more then made up for by its larger screen size and overall better interface. This, is a great deal for one.

Must the software be loaded to transfer the files ?

I mean when it says it plays mpeg-4 files as most do now require you to use there converting software. Is this the case ?

I bought one (white) from Staples at $189. Really happy with it; great sound, big screen, offers a subscription service that iTunes doesn't. Not nearly as many accessories out there compared to an iPod, but a nice A/V dock, remote, etc.
