Froogle!
Not much to offer, but woot seems to have a great price!

I don't understand exactly what this product does. What is it's main function?

I am thinking it's a cheap foreman grill knock off, but it also could be some type of flying device. i hope it's not usb 1.1

How do sound bars like this compare to Home Theaters In a Box (HTIB)?

I would imagine that neither does the job of a component system. But, is this good for non-audiophiles?

I own one of these and it works beautifully but the led's on it are kinda bright. But overall it performs just as expected. (especially for the price)

My roommate had one of these. It worked pretty well. We had it in the same room as some older Bose speakers, and it performed at least as well as them. It's not as loud as our full set of speakers, but then, they're big and it's not.

So is this a bose wave wanabee?

Cheapest price anywhere else on the internet is $234.95. I'm in need of a speaker system but $110 is just a little too much.

Will it be difficult to connect to my home computer? It is the center of my home entertainment system. Does anybody use it as such?

Anyone know if this thing needs to be out in the open to produce sound properly, or could I stack it on top of my DVD player inside the TV console?

Hey, is this similar to that soundbox thing where it plays from the small box but sounds like it's a five speaker theatre system?

All-in-one sound solution if you can plug an optical or spdif device for simulated surround sound... tv, dvd, komputer, stuff...

Space saving low profile design, and hassle free set up (Audiophiles need not apply)

At least they're being honest.

We purchased this back in the beginning of January for the 149.99 and love it. Set it up with our lil 42" sony bravia flat screen... it works perfectly for us. not too much, not too little... just the right amount of oompff that gives us fabulous sound for the effort. and it was a breeze to set up and use.

I have mine sitting right on top of my DVR/cable box on my TV stand, which is 1 level below the TV. Works awesome. I love mine.

I bought one of these last year (I'm pretty sure it was the next model down, for the same price even...).

It's great for a bedroom, which is where mine is at. It's good for movies and video games that you might use it with, but don't expect blockbuster bass thumping. It's better than the TV's (Panasonic 32 inch) onboard speakers, but obviously not as good as a full surround setup.

My only complaints are these:
- the remote is not that powerful and you really have to point it directly at the unit to get it to respond.

- to fully power down the unit, you have to hit the switch on the back. Otherwise, a little green light sits and blinks at you indefinitely, which is a little annoying.

Keep in mind, these complaints were for the next model down, so maybe they corrected the issues (small as they are). Overall, I'd definitely recommend this unit if you have a specific use in mind for it.

People who claim to own it seem to like it. Is there anybody who owns this and doesn't like it or is unsatisfied with it?

Got one of these. As an enhancement to a Flat Screen TV, it works great. Loud, powerful, clear...definitely increased the enjoyment factor for my LG 47" LCD.. Surround...not really. Also lacks definition musically, but does fill the room (actually the whole house) well.

Mounted it on an Omnimount (AB-2 I think) mount about 12" below the ceiling and made a huge improvement on the bass response.

The company's customer service is awesome. I had an issue and they were incredibly flexible and responsive. They stand behind their product.

I got one of these last time around. Not bad, the sound is a mixed bad. Sometimes it will sound absolutely fabulous, other times it will seem like something is wrong with the speakers. Perhaps there's something wrong with mine. Great for a small room. Other downside, and it's a big one, it does have an LCD display, so it's hard to gauge the volume. Worth $150, worth $120.

Not that you should expect it too but it doesn't extract or playback DTS so just ignore that option on your dvds.

At least the woot cast was worth some of my time. Sort of.

depending on the speakers you have it connected to ..... it gets pretty loud and the sound is quite clear when it's loud

I'd stick with the Bose Wave Radio I'll be acquiring shortly... Cheaper when used! Just like respiffed! Just a little dirtier.
