Woo hoo, much faster today!

Anyone else have one of these? i got one the last time. It monitors the heart rate fine, but i cant get it to work with my treadmill. Is there a list somewhere of compatible treadmills, and more importantly, how to get the program to work if they are compatible?

Other than that, you might wanna change the battery as soon as you get it, cause when i got mine it was on, but it works great. Little difficult to figure out the programming, but outside of that, real decent device.

i had 2 of these within the same year, and both worked like guppy... might as well have shook a magic eight ball and hoped for a number instead of yes or no. :-| It's either this thing doesn't work, or I have 3 hearts all beating rhythmically somehow 6 separate beats.

Got a chest strap with my treadmill and only used it for a month or so before never bothering again. This would be much more useful for use road running.

Hmm... Just like the Reebok branded version woot had previously.

I have this same model, but mine carries a Reebok branding. Works well for me, and the strap works great with the machines at the gym.

Can't remember if Woot charged more when it was branded Reebok...

does this or any other heart rate monitor hook up to an iPod or iPhone so it'll interrupt your music to tell you to slow down or speed up?

I had to use one of these in my gym class in college. They work pretty well for the most part. Downsides were that you had to rub water on the sensors that are against your chest to get it started, if someone else was too close to you with one on it would pick up their heart rate too.

A lot of the girls complained they were uncomfortable to wear with bras, and if your bra had any wire, it would often mess up the readings for some reason.

Nope, same price. See my earlier link.

I'm sort of confused. I used something similar to this in high school, but they had a stretchy band to hold the heart rate strap up...? Like, it was a separate part that snapped in to make it into a band that went all the way around...

So basically my question is... how does the Chest Strap stay up?

There are elastic straps the go through the holes in the back of the band.

There's an adjustable strap that isn't shown in the picture. I have one of these made by Reebok, and it looks exactly the same other than the company name on it.

It was Jan 10, 2008 and was $19.99 then too

it also comes with an adjustable elastic band which wraps around your back to keep it on.

Alright, seriously woot mods. When giving props for a quality post to those that Froogle, could you at least check that link before giving it? Switz213's link gives you elliptical machines and treadmills made by Pro-Form. This has happened quite a bit lately!

I bought two Rebok Precision Trainer XT's [for wife and I] of these a while back. Seem like the same devices. I love them. They work great with our workout centers Precor exercise equipment. It is more accurate with calories burned than they are. To sync with the Precor, simply step on and go. It is better than holding on to the handles.

As far as batteries, replacement soon is advisable.

I think it comes with a band (nylon or elastic or something) that hooks onto the holes in the monitor.

have you had a medical exam to rule out the latter?

can this also be linked up with some kind of distance tracking device? Or will it possibly interfere with a separate distance device's signal?

What a pain in the neck the author of these so-called "product narratives" is. I challenge him/her/it to a duel at midnight in the nearest park. Let's see you sneak out beneath Mom's radar-like gaze you punk-featured git!

I have the Reebok branded one too.....looks like the same thing. I use it for road and trailrunning, and it is pretty comfortable, even with a sportsbra on. Problem I had was with the watch cracking. First one they replaced, just sent the replacement back yesterday after it just cracked while I was putting on the watch. Have had couple of other (Polar brand) HRMs where the part of the watch where the band attaches cracks off, but not the actual face. Dont remember hitting it agst anything. Hmm, and when I ran in the rain the inside of the watch got kind of foggy but by the time I thought about sending it in it cleared up by itself.
Still, for the price it cannot be beat. It's especially good feedback for running in the heat, easy to overdo it when it suddenly warms up.

Looks like this can be compatible possibly with this treadmill. To answer questions from above: Here is the link I found...

These are really useful. I don't work out too often, but I use it to make sure I don't over exert myself when it's hot. I also use it to accurately monitor my heart rate during what little cardio I actually partake in.

Compatibility:
Mine works with POLAR ready machines. If your machine is not Polar ready, the heart monitor is not compatible.

When I was riding my bike a lot, this thing was PERFECT for helping me keep a steady cardio pace, and a steady wind down from cardio.

Edit: Mine is the Reebok branded one, but considering the reebok one is actually a rebrand of some german one I think these may be the same. They look identical, and have all the same features. It's quality stuff, and for the price you can't beat it.

Generally positive reviews on a similar (read: the same, just branded "Reebok" instead) device on Amazon.com. For the price, I'll snag one since I've been in the market for a heart monitor for cardio exercise.

Also, Amazon has them for $30 for price comparison, seen here. Especially consider the added shipping, woot all sorts of wins on price.

What about replacing the band with the sports wraps? they are cloth and will not break.

Can the watch detect your heart rate without the chest strap?

use a separate self-contained pedometer and stop-watch

yeah... if i knew what POLAR ready machines where, or how to even check, it wouldn't be a problem for me. I just really want my treadmill to adjust the speed based on my heart rate. and i dont wanna grab that stupid bar for 20 seconds while i am running to figure it out.

I own this now and have never been able to get the heart rate to send the data to a the workout machine. If anyone has a clue how to do that, please email me at tlz_allen2@yahoo.com.
