1, 2, 3 at least three good red-card infractions there. What's with that chop-punch? Looks like 'roid rage isn't just for the guys.

She was just having an anxiety attack because she was waiting for her Bag of Random Craps from Woot!

Sometimes a box of cigars is just a box of cigars.

That girl should play Rugby

cgolgert

okay, okay. i don't condone her behavior, retribution should not be tolerated. but seriously, you have to look at the whole picture: on the punch - the "victim" elbows her - and a sharp female elbow to the diaphragm isn't going to feel good - period. On the pony tail grab - the "victim" instigated the contact by grabbing Lambert's shorts - to "hold her in position" which is a discrete "foul" for you non-playing types...
apparently they must have been doing this to her all day and she wasn't able to "rise above it" and be a sportsman/sportswoman.

really, she should have just pulled down their shorts or something - that would have been a better highlight reel!

That was the most soccer I have seen in 10 years.

Please don't delete this post, I am trying, honest!

Soccer or "sock her"?

In a follow-up story, Lambert has actually been indefinitely suspended from the New Mexico team due to her unsportsmanlike conduct. I guess her actions caught up with her. (See full story here)

FelisLachesis

If the refs were doing their jobs, she should've gotten a couple of yellows to get a red and that's would've been the end of it. That punch in her penalty area should've been at least a foul which resulted in a penalty kick.

The officiating in this game is also to blame for letting her get away with more and more dirty plays.

You are an ass. The instigating actions you speak of are common in soccer and occur in every game. Lambert's retaliation, if you can even call it that, should be considered assault. You are ridiculous to even bring up the idea that she was provoked.

just cuz it happens in every game (which is doesnt) and the refs dont call it doesnt mean it isnt in violation of the rules.

Right, grabbing someone's crotch and elbowing them in the sternum is common. I'll be sure to make note to my sons during their games.

She SHOULD be suspended for those actions. Many sports allow for "some" contact, but everyone who plays those sports (especially at the collegiate level and above) knows what lines not to cross. She crossed them-- in a big way. You may recall that something similar happened with a Boise State football player and an Oregon football player. The player from Oregon was just reinstated, and he should have been suspended for the remainder of the season. Yeah, I think the refs should be reprimanded for letting it get out of hand, but ultimately she chose her own actions.

FIFA would have suspended her for 2 years for that pony tail thing and the chop to the neck would have been life suspension. That is ridiculous that the ref's didn't call any of those. What game where they watching.

And for the other person in this thread, a little elbow and I mean that was a little elbow is just saying get off my back. The overblown reaction was just uncalled for.
