should i find it concerning that they already have enough refurbished units to feature this on Woot?

3.8 stars is the average on Buzzillions.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

Amazon has it for $499.
Overall good reviews

With the upgrade to Android 3.2 just rolling out adding SD card support and a bunch of other new features this is pretty tempting.

I love my Xoom!

Wait, isn't this the same price a new Asus Transformer costs?

edit: oh this is 32GB, nice!

Pretty tempting, I'm just not sure if I'm up for only a $100 break on a refurbished unit.

Hows the GPS on this thing? In terms of driving down the road and using it as a GPS device.

If this were an Asus Transformer, you'd have my money.

It's not the best deal. The tablet itself is less than stellar. The screen has a very high amount of reflection (more than iPad 1/2 - I've used them all)... Maybe for $299, but $399 seems like a stretch as we're seeing a lot of 10.1" Android tablets at the current asking price. A better bet if you MUST by a 10.1" tonight is the Transformer IMO...

Alright guys explain to me why I shouldn't buy one before I do.

Does it have a built in GPS?

Chi. Yes, I want you to do something for me. I want you to go in my room, look over my suits, in the ceiling, up on the ceiling you'll see a key stuck there. I want you to take it down and bring it to me. Meet me at the Total Experience in one halfa hour. Can you dig it?

Maybe worth noting to some that the 4G version has cleared the FCC and should be arriving soonish

Wow, the Xoom finally gets to be cheaper than an iPad.

True, but for $80 more I'd go for the 32GB Transformer and consider the keyboard dock too. Wouldn't need my netbook anymore.

But I think I'm holding out for the first crop of tablets to ship with Ice Cream anyway.

This actually isn't that terrible of a tablet. I have one and it comes in handy, Android runs well, and it's compact and light.

Cnet review is of mixed opinions but for this price it is hard to beat.

http://reviews.cnet.com/motorola-xoom/

At least it is still in their top 5 tablets.

Is there an app out there that lets you run Java applications on this (or any Android) unit?

I have heard conflicting information (but most of it says no).

Don't seem to be too many options out there if you want a tablet capable of running Java.

I bought this shortly after it was released, and I love it! Honeycomb is a very good OS. The battery life is great, and 98% of the apps I use on my Xoom were free. It is also very nice that Amazon gives away a free app a day. Flash on this gets the job done for those websites that just don't have good mobile versions. If I didn't already have one, I'd definitely buy one for this price--even with it being a refurb.

how does this fair for reading comics on?

The LTE upgrade to this device just went through the FCC. Not sure if you get the upgrade for free without buying the Xoom through Verizon though....

Just saw that this is the Wi-Fi only version. Which makes this post a waste of everyone's time. Sorry

I wouldn't worry, a lot of refurbs are just someone bought it at walmart, and returned it cause they couldn't actually afford it.

Most big box stores won't sell used units so they send it back to Motorola who preforms a restore to factory defaults and sends it back out at a huge discount.

Pretty awesome, unless you want to do it in bright light, the xoom seems to have the worst screen, imho, of all the honeycomb tablets.

So, I am wondering... I am mostly apple man.... I do medical billing and that can only be done on an IE Browser.... what does this unit browse the web with? This particular billing site only uses IE and not Safari. Comments? I can write this off if it works with IE.

Oh, man... if I had the cash...

Incidentally, I just installed Android 3.0 onto my gTablet, which has also been regularly featured on Woot. 10.1", 32GB of storage... it's shiny! But it's no Xoom... the camera's a bit off and there's no GPS. Plus, it's a little old...

Great price, even on eBay they are over 399. On Amazon one is being sold for 379 with free shipping and everyone goes UP from there. 3.1...I figure by Christmas I can afford one at Wally World for under 200!

This space for rent.
