I already have a SD Roku and I bought a streaming blu-ray player on black friday. I did wonder if I still needed the Roku after setting up the player but the one thing the Roku has over the player is the number of streaming channel available.

I can only play blu-rays and stream three channels on the player. I can stream like 200+ channels of content to my SD Roku. I would say if you don't have cable but want a lot of options for content, having both of these units is a good idea.

Here's the full feature run-down of all of the different Roku varieties. Note, this table does NOT show how much RAM is in each unit - frankly, it never occurred to me until now to add that detail.

Hmmm, getting cut off. Okay, here's a direct link to the image:

I bought this from Woot the day after thanksgiving. Unfortunately, mine did not come with the remote. I emailed woot and got the auto reply with a service ticket number, but no response yet. If someone gets an extra remote, can you send it my way?

What are you going to do ISP wise and what do you do for Sports...etc.

Thanks in advance. Just bought two and looking forward to saving over a 100bucks a month in BS Cable fees.

Correction. Just as I hit "post" Woot emailed me back saying they contacted Roku and they should be sending me a replacement part. We shall see...

Yes you can. I use Playon, but there are other methods.

Nice chart... one correction. I believe the Roku2's do NOT support the 5 GHz band, only 2.4 GHz.

My friendly neighborhood wootbot has informed me that this already shipped yesterday morning. Thanks Woot - that's a super nice turnaround time!

(We'll see how long smartpost takes to get it to me, but that's an entirely different matter.)

I just received my shipment today and the ROCU unit was missing from the box. I got the remote, power adapter and A/V cable but no ROCU unit. white tundra frost?

I would not have bought this had I realized I would need to contact their customer support in order to create an account required to use the device, in order to not give them my credit card or paypal information.

Mine came in yesterday 12/10. Setup was easy-peasy as advertised. I did have to change the default video output aspect ratio to match my flat screen TV even though I am using an HDMI cable. As somebody who has "cut the cable" this promises to be a nice entertainment and news source for me.

I've loaded up a few news channels and movie ones so far. The news channels seem to offer clips of stories rather than watching "live" TV but there may be some live streams out there I haven't found in one day of use. I do have Netflix which in the past I watched on my woot-purchased Tivo Premier refurb but the interface on the Roku seems smoother & quicker than using the Tivo.

I'm also an Amazon Prime trial member and I must say Amazon has TONS of free selections for Prime members. it was quick and easy to link my Netflix and Amazon accounts to this.

I have an older 720P Roku refurb coming in from deals.woot that Jumbowoot helped me buy for my ancient 25 inch CRT RCA TV downstairs; if that Roku is anything like this one, I'll start watching that beast of a TV again

Thanks woot! Another winner!

Same here, I am ticked off that I have to provide CC info for a "free account" on a device that I paid for. If I buy something "then" and only "then" do I provide CC info.

I didn't notice that auction was for multiple models. I got one of the older ones ... Non HD it seems. An XD would have been nice, but this will probably work fine.

I really hate the SmartPost "service". My package is finally at the post office in my city, and the tracking says to allow 2 more days for delivery. Sure, that may not be the case, but with SmartPost, I would tend to believe it.

I checked it out, and it is actually an HD. Not too bad -- sending it to my Mom.

I love my Roku XD! I had no idea they had the HBO Go app on it and that alone sold me. I almost bought another Xbox 360 just to get the Netflix, Hulu and HBOGo apps on my other TV and this accomplished the same thing for much cheaper.

Also, this was the fastest Woot has ever shipped something to me. Usually they take a bit longer.

You know I got this but I feel like I got jibbed. The unit is refurbished and not even a Roku 2 version. The cost was $55 shipped which is the same price as a new version Roku 2. How come this was such a bad deal. I always assumed that you guys are giving us a good deal. This really hurts my feelings towards Woot. Not cool at all people.
