From Kai Shun I'm sure this is high quality. But it looks like edge grain in the photo. You really want end grain for a cutting board. Does anyone know for sure?

If I'm recalling correctly, the last wootoff featured a big round bamboo cutting board that was followed up with what seemed to be about 300 expensive Kai Shun knife sets.

Here is to hoping we won't see a recurrence.

I buy cutting boards at a restaurant supply outlet, at about $3 each. I can toss them in the dishwasher and forget about 'em. I can buy about 20 of them, for the price of this one board, and they last for years. Do the math.
