Time to rest up so I can shovel the next storm.

W T H happened to son? He is driving back up to school tonight. So where is he?

Kids, if you don't want your parents involved in your day to day life, STAY AT SCHOOL.

You were probably the one one in your whole town who had one.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

I, like D'name, had 2 snowblowers back in the great white north but sold them both before I moved because I was under the mistaken belief it didn't snow here.I wish I kept the small one and a snow shovel for those one or two days of snow we get.

Kill the old people.
My mom is thinking of walking to the beauty parlor.
She wouldn't drive on either of the days she had an appointment. One of those days was perfectly fine.

I told her, drive. It is 4 or 5 blocks. All side streets. Go slow.
NOOOOO
She won't drive in the snow.
So she wants to WALK

Call a cab. NOOOOO

Call the beauty parlor and ask if they will pick you up. She is only a few blocks away.
NOOOOO

Walk.
She was a walker when she was young, but we don't go places like the beach boardwalk anymore, because she can't walk far.

Question: How can it be too bad to drive, but OK to walk??????

When you walk, you don't feel as compelled to go a certain speed, maybe?

My Grandmother used to insist that she'd be fine to drive, but the 'darned car starter is broken, it's too hard to turn'.

Right. Strength enough to steer wasn't a problem, just turning the car on.

I think it is probably scarier to consider hitting an icy patch and having the vehicle hit another one, OH GOD, THEY'RE WATCHING ME, or something. Perhaps you can telll her that falling, breaking bones, etc. results in maybe hospital, rehab and using walking aids - In a nice way of course. She prbably feels more in control when she is on her feet, but it really is not so and most older people have a fear of falling.

I'm trying to figure out how it is too bad to drive, but OK to walk???

There are no main roads. She can do it all side streets.

She is going to make me drive out there again.

Son never called to say he got home last night. I texted him twice this morning and he finally answered. At 10:45

Kill the old people, kill the kids.

I did bring the dog to have pictures taken and got 2 mugs and a keychain.
I should have gotten the smaller mug to fit our weird coffeemaker.
Son took a mug last night.

Today in the mail.....another set.
They don't give you a # to call. Plus, it is custom. Who else wants a mug with my dog on it? I guess they could use it as the sample.

So I guess I have 2 new mugs and a new keychain.

They do it at the pet store every once in awhile. I didn't bring him to a studio. Just the pet store.
The girl who takes the pictures is nice. I hope she doesn't get in trouble.

The little line that you move to start typing, might have moved.

I don't even know if she can walk 5 blocks anymore. No less 5 blocks with the slush and ice.

Maybe I'll call the damn salon and see if anyone can get her and bring her home.
They do mostly older people, they should start a service.

Plus, she is endlessly worrying about how her hair looks, but she has stray chin hairs.
I tell her, why not have them pluck the chin hairs after they do your hair? She is there every week in the good weather. She never washes here hair at home. Never did. Gets it washed and frozen into place with spray. Like it was 1945.
No, she can't see the chin hair, so it doesn't bother her.

Oh, I found my first stray chin hair.

LOL, I see you were just told.

Anytime something doesn't make sense on Woot, hit reply and you can read what the person actually wrote, in the quote box.

Sometimes people actually write wacky things. Most of the time it is Gatzby and the filter elves.

Most of the time it is words that are nasty and overused on shirt, like idiot, or sometimes Gatzby and his minions just pick a common word to screw around with the posts.

That is why I suggested it! She will have her eyebrows done every once in awhile.
Since this is an older person salon, they wouldn't mind taking a few seconds and plucking the handful of long, stray hairs.

When we went to the last funeral in the old neighborhood, the first thing her and her friends talked about was hair and the beauty parlor.
The person died on the wrong day for most of them to get their hair done. This was a huge problem for them.
Plus this group is in their 80's and 90's but they still have their saturday appointment. They never changed the day after they stopped working!

OK the weather just talked about a small storm on the weekend and a possible big storm next week.

That is it. I'm going to order the bomb shelter supplies from costco online and just stay in the house for the rest of the winter!
I'm not shoveling again.

(did you see that? costco is selling a survival package. It is the 1050's again)
