O.K. I just knew it was a 6 hour drive one way, thought she was leaving and coming back in the same day.

hey did ya get the camera advice I sent. I really think the newer cameras are a huge step up for easy use and good pictures for casual shooters.

They work great for planes, just pop those on and listen to soothing music. If you are going 1st class lean back and relax also.

DOn't be surprised by how accommodating they will be there. We went to the wrong restaurant once during a typhoon in Osaka. THe staff of that restaurant took their umbrellas and walked us to the other restaurant, ands insisted that we keep the umbrellas there until we left in our taxi. Once we ate in a tempura place in Tokyo near that famous shopping strip- the Ginza? anyway, when we went in, there weren't enough places for us all. They called around and found another tempura place, and their waitress took us to it to be sure we found it. The Japanese I've come in contact with in Japan have been the most gracious hosts in any country I've seen. If you forget something, you should ask at your hotel- they'll almost certainly have it or get it for you.

Yes, quite gracious hosts. Very curious about foreigners. You will hear the word "gaijin"...anyone who isn't Japanese. I had very little trouble to get around, eat, or whatever. You'll be fine, and have a great time. Driving is a bit different story, though. They drive on the wrong side of the road, and most of the signs outside of the cities are in kanji characters...(what are we looking for? Kobe. What was that again-the birdhouse missing the side? No that was Himeji, look for the pi looking sign.)

We have had families here for a few years at a time for Cannon. Those women did seem much friendlier. They really didn't speak English, but they tried to talk if I would talk to them.

Hmm, didn't know that. Don't tell KT but now I'm looking at an A560. They're not out yet and I can't figure out when they're going to be out. Stl said the face recognition feature really makes a difference.
