Families of SMA has partnered with GoodSearch.com to raise
money for FSMA. On Wednesday, April 5, 2006 we will be the featured charity of the day.

GoodSearch.com is a search engine, like Google. The site is powered by Yahoo!, so you'll get the same quality search
results that you're used to. What's unique is that they have
developed a way to direct money to FSMA with every click.

The more people who use this site, the more money will go to
research. If 1,500 people search only twice a day that will
equal over $10,000 a year for FSMA. Just from searching the
Internet. There is no limit.. the more searches, the larger
the donation.

So please spread the word to your friends and family. It doesn't
matter where you live - anyone can help!
GOODSEARCH
Put FSMA in the "I'm supporting" box and get clicking!!!

AlienResearchGrpHome wrote:THE FIRST EPISTLE OF PAUL THE APOSTLE TO THE CORINTHIANS

CHAPTER 13
Paul extols the high status of charity——Charity, a pure love, excels and exceeds almost all else.

1 THOUGH I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Easter bump!

I know most people have given something by now in the name of Katrina relief, either to the Red Cross or to other charities, but here is a way to help the victims easily and without hurting your own wallet.

Making Change for Katrina is a national spare change collection campaign to benefit the victims of the recent hurricanes in the Gulf. The recipient of the funds is Habitat for Humanity, an organization that builds simple, decent and affordable homes for people in need. Coinstar, Inc. will serve as the primary collection partner for Making Change for Katrina. Coinstar has over 12,000 coin collection kiosks throughout the U.S. and machines are programmed in English and Spanish.
It's easy - just gather your spare pennies, nickels, and other coins and take them to your nearest Coinstar® Center.
During the month of April, your coins will go to help Habitat for Humanity build new homes in the Gulf Coast region.

Or, you can send funds directly to Habitat for Humanity.
To donate online, please go to Habitat's Web site, www.habitat.org, and click on the Hurricane Katrina recovery fund button, or call 1-866-292-7892.

So get digging in your couch cushions, check under your floormats, check the pockets of your winter coat.

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who gives.

I''m going to try to move this here. Sometimes my cut and paste work, sometimes it doesn't.
Since almost all of the pictures of hubbys family were in a closet in New Orleans (parents never took pics, Uncle from New Orleans did) (closet stayed dry). Got to admit, as soon as I found out the people were OK, my next question was, how are the photos?

Operation Photo Rescue

I didn't see any other posts here regarding this, but there is a grass roots organization called 'Operation Photo Rescue' that is trying to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina by restoring damaged photographs. Their blog can be found here:http://web.mac.com/fiftyeggs60/iWeb/Site/OPR%20Blog/OPR%20Blog.html

I signed up and am pretty excited about what I might be able to do to help out someone who thinks that their favorite picture is lost forever. I figured this would be as good a place as any to ask for additional volunteers for this worthwhile project.
