Has helped my wife when she was young and they are helping my baby girl now. My wife and my daughter have a rare bone disorder in the arms, and shriners helps people that can't quite afford to get help, but unlike typical assistance they have some of the best doctors in the world. They only help children and babies...

For a list of great places to donate to, check out these. 95% or more of their total expenses are charitable services. Meaning they spend 95% or more of donated money helping people in need.

The top few make sure 100% of the money goes directly to people in need. These are the greatest ones. In fact, their websites and fundraisers are all payed for out of their own pocket, so they are actually losing profit, but helping people in need. Now THAT is a good organization.
