For those who are keeping score, I pronounce my name as Zee-uh. Long "e" sound with a "schwa". If you don't have a schwa on your keyboard, just type an "e" and turn the monitor upside down!

Two groups of lyrics went through my head today:

"I guess I shoulda closed my eyes
When u drove me 2 the place
Where your horses run free

cuz I felt a little ill
When I saw all the pictures
Of the jockeys that were there before me

Believe it or not
I started to worry
I wondered if I had enough class."

Love her and she'll bring you luck. "

Hi fen!
That is not a river. It is a stream, or really a creek or brook.

Yes, I can't believe it is over on Saturday, though...

I've done a lot of driving & packing/unpacking. It is good to stay in one place for two nights finally.

Today was such a great day...in comparison to this day last year. It was perfect weather today. The scenery was gorgeous. The grass smelled great. Everything seemed as if it were in bloom. I was by myself & felt comfortable and happy.

I enjoyed taking photos (even if just casually - not focusing on composition, etc...) & thought how lucky I am to have the talents that I do. I actually felt sorry for my husband & his gf for a very brief moment. They will likely never have that artistic spirit/connection/calling & their life will always be ruled by the rational.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment in the morning and then I will go to the Barea Flea Market that I missed today, plus some other antique markets.

Then I am off to Frankin & Monteagle, TN to meet TennBee, which should be fun!

KT, it is only Monday, don't be wishing the week away by worrying about it!

You can feel bad for the gf. He will eventually leave her with a child to raise by herself.

I don't feel bad for her at all. She can handle raising a kid on her own, all she needs from my husband is child support...and she gets some already for the 2 kids she had with another man, I imagine. So, she technically could live high off the hog by just continually popping out babies...legalized prostitution in essence.

Heh. Thanks, Fen. And thanks for pushing me to take this trip...I needed to be away from home this week. It's too bad that TennBee & I will be so close to your area and you can't meet up...

It will cost me about $50, not to mention that I hate driving, and no offense to tennbee, I hate TN as well. Besides, once you add 2 hours for school, that would be 8 hours and I would hardly have any time to spend there, like 30 seconds at most.

I completely understand, fen...especially since gas prices just rose yet again & you are a student.

Had I had more time, I would have driven the extra 3 hours to meet with you, but as is, I have to drive back 4 hours from TN to KY to get my plane.

Perhaps there will be another time. You'll definitely like Poof when you meet her...

I picked up TennBee at the TN airport. We stopped at a Sonic on the way to her folks' house. My first trip to a Sonic ever. I met her family, her sister and their dog, an Akita (sorry TennBee, I forgot which breed)? The dog was profusely shedding. When she mentioned this, I figured how much can a dog really shed? I think it is molting for real...

We drove around looking at the area where she grew up, where her family lived & the general look of real estate that was available in the area, etc...

TennBee's Mom & Dad took us to a real Southern Soul Food restaurant. It was surprisingly good, though I didn't understand what they were ordering per se. I had BBQ pulled pork or beef (not sure), mac & cheese & warm apple slices...and this thing called water corn bread or something like that. I tried some of Tenn's collard greens. I am not sure what her mother was eating other than lima beans and apples, maybe okra?

I was given the option to stay at her folks' home, but chose to move on to my hotel since it was pre-paid. I am glad I did. It is kind of neat in here...no offense, TennBee! You should have come here!

So...just quick shots from today, sorry, nothing artful.

I was leaving Kentucky and saw this in the window of a shop. I've never seen anything quite like it. I call it "child abuse."

The hotel room:

Tomorrow, Monteagle...
