KT - Thank you for posting all the beautiful pics. I can't even choose a favorite!

I haven't had much time for posting lately, but I have been checking in on Misfits. Seeing the pictures is relaxing to me!

I gotta get back to working on the job application now. Still not sure how I got talked into this one. 4 hours to the deadline. . .

Hi! I am up WAY late for me, but just had to say that I enjoyed spending time with KT today! She did see my M&D's Akita (Bear), the dog that is blowing his coat. If you pet him right now, you will come away with enough hair to make a right good rain cloud or another dog.
Tomorrow will be a good picture-taking day for KT, as we will hit the countryside. BUT, KT, you should've asked me if that was okra or not! L O L You will have to come back to eat lunch there some Monday to get the tomatoes baked with bread in them (scalloped tomatoes, I think they are called).
Off to bed... and looking forward to a nice day in the country tomorrow. KT might see more of the "child abuse" clothes where we are going!

Baby bee will only be seen in a dress like that if she is in some sort of dance contest and we are promised we will not have to pay for or keep the dress.

Oh, and I forgot to say that I really like KT's hotel room. That does look like a very good room, though she could've taken some of the dog's hair to stuff the pillows a bit fuller.

OH, oh, oh, FEN....
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card! I will put you a card in the mail in the next few weeks. Not a Christmas card, most likely, but something. As you can tell, we check that P.O. Box about 3 times a year; I think the last time was in September! I know that is odd, but I was just so glad the box got such a pretty card. Plus, I loved the picture you included of the flower. THANK you! KT got to witiness the opening of the card which I thought was really special, too.

What a wonderful thing to do. She couldn't have found a tour guide who could show her the sights nearly the way you can. Especially since you got her to try collards. (Did she use vinegar on them?) (I had collards with fatback earlier this week in fact) Never cared for okra much myself. Pork BBQ? M-m-m!

Can't wait to see the pictures that come out of today's travels.

Edit: And it was nice 'talking' to you on the phone too!

Yikes, those have to be some of the ugliest dresses I have ever seen!

Oh, definitely having a good time. Lots of driving, but well worth it. It has been nice to "escape" this week...physically & mentally.

Me, too! It has been a load of fun! "Blowing his coat" is definitely a new term for me. Bear is a sweetheart. Your mom & dad were very gracious and friendly...please thank them again for the offer of the overnight stay.

I look forward to breakfast & our visit to Monteagle today!

pooflady wrote:Sounds like you're having a good time. That's great.

Yes, indeedy. Tennbee asked about you...and Tall. (I didn't tell her ALL of the dirty secrets!) Seeing as how she will be moving back to TN soon, you should arrange a road trip with Tall to meet Tennbee.

Heh. Poor baby bee...

The hotel was nice...very comfortable. I am glad I stayed as I got a...RAZOR from Guest Services! I have been traveling without one as I was unsure if I could pack one because of airport regulations. So I have been suffering for...5 (!) days without one. I just have been on the go so much that it hasn't crossed my mind to stop off at a drugstore to get one. Ahhhhhhh...finally...

It has been fun. No worries. I have been enjoying my stay.

Fen's card was pretty funny. He apologized for not making up a typed address label & not using his trademark silver pen on her card. It sounded sincere but half lazy. It was hilarious. His photo with the stamp of "FEN'S FOTOS" with his IP address was pretty funny as well. He does do a good job with the photography thing. Poof even suggested he major in Photography. Not a bad idea...

Oh. Not boring at all! You know I love looking at real estate! It is kind of funny to see her get impatient with traffic. A line up of 10 cars is nothing in Massachusetts, but is the end of the world for Tennbee. I learn a lot of interesting things when wooters drive!!!

The pronunciation of jqubed came up with us!

I'm back in NC, now. Had a great day yesterday seeing lots of land in the mid-South of Tennessee. KT and I ate at a nice restaurant last night that was in a house that Al Capone built as a hideaway in Monteagle, TN. The restaurant is called High Point.

Yes it did! So, :P. Heh

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I stayed at a B&B in Monteagle, TN. I was in room #4 - The Blue Room. The bed was HIGH off the ground & I had to use the stool that they put off to the side of the bed! There was no key to the room either so I could have been ravaged by natives. ;)

So, I check in...and she drives me way off into the woods on a dirt road...to kill me (I am thinking)...

Then TennBee takes me to a rock ledge where two people "accidentally" fell off and died...

Random photos

This is the restaurant that TennBee & I went to last evening...the one where Al Capone used to hide out...It was the most romantic dinner I have had in over a year! llo!

We stopped to pick up TennBee's post box mail and I saw these. Important when "bubba-hunting." Kinda looks like Josephus, huh?

Something TennBee & I saw that was perfect for Josephus , D'Name & Fen respectively.

I wanted these, but they were too small.

TennBee took me to an "unincorporated" town. Think I could live in either of these? ;)

Current gas price in Louisville, KY...

Drove 1,100 miles so far...but leave tomorrow...

Of course! Most jobs have a closing date. In this case the service that you apply to collects all the applications, reviews them for completeness on the day after th close date and sends them on to the hiring departments.

killingtime wrote:Good luck with the job app! What are you applying for?

That particular one was a job as a product manager for a group at the local University known as IBEST. They are exploring evolution in biological systems (mostly microbiology) and technology. They also are heavily involved in the new field of bioinformatics. I wasn't going to apply, because I have never done project management, and personally prefer to be the researcher, but I saved the job announcement and since I am a member on the site where it was posted it sent some of my information ahead. I received an e-mail asking me to finish the application by the deadline, so I did. Probably didn't do the best job I could have, but by the time I decided to go for it, there wasn't a lot of time left.

jqubed, I never "saw" the cubed part until someone pointed it out! I just saw the run-on of the letters and have always pronounced your name Jock-u-bed. This, from a person who loves to figure out personalized license plates and usually gets them first if others are in the car!

She should be back home safe and sound. No Bubbas made off with her.

Left Louisville hotel at 4:45am. Flew into Providence, RI around 11:20 am. Drove back to MA. Gave the kitties some loving. Took a nap. Ate. Going through mail.

4:45 a.m.? What was that about? That's not what your itinerary said and that was bad enough.

Had to drop off rental car. Checked the night before that it took 20 minutes to get to airport from hotel with GPS. Plane left at 7:20 am. I didn't know how long it would take to get through security.
