SkekTek wrote:Aw MAAAANN!!! I'm in the wrong thread over in PWA! Cure talk... cool. My best show I saw was 1988 when they played the Meadowlands with Love and Rockets and the Pixies. The sun set, the cure came on when the sky was all sorts of colors, and played for over two hours.
Charlotte sometimes is great. So's The Forest. The newer stuff is OK but I am a big fan of Head on the Door.
My soon-to-be-ex-husband liked Love and Rockets, the Pixies, the Cranes, Frank Black, Garbage & Interpol. I liked most Interpol songs, Garbage and a few Cranes songs...especially "Cloudless." He had a strong dislike for Morrissey. He was starting to get into weird shite like Avril Lavigne toward the end of our marriage. I am almost positive it was his girlfriend's influence and lack of musical taste.
The Cure usually plays for three hours. They do anywhere between 3-5 encores...depending on curfew. I have been a long time fan...traveled several states & countries to see them play.
My soon-to-be-ex meet on a Cure chat site. It is kind of rare to find single guys who are into The Cure as much as I am. (And yes, I know you are not single.)
Some of my favorites - Fascination Street, Want, 39, Bloodflowers, Freak Show, Truth Goodness and Beauty, It Used To Be Me, Prayers For Rain, 2 Late, Homesick, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, Maybe Someday, One More Time, To Wish Impossible Things, Figurehead, Wrong Number, To the Sky, The Loudest Sound, Charlotte Sometimes, A Forest, Faith, The Drowning Man, Other Voices, The Hanging Garden. Damn, who am I kidding...there are very few songs I don't like.
My soon-to-be ex tainted these songs - A Few Hours After This & All of This by relating them to his new girlfriend. Ferker!!! I bet she isn't even a REAL Cure fan. Ferker!!! Poser!!! Little did he know that an ex-boyfriend of mine related A Few Hours After This with me.

It is a somewhat scary looking bunch of guys. One of the guitar guys was really freaky looking.
Made Robert look normal.
I did have a good time.
You mean Porl Thompson.
Glad you had a good time. So did I. Now I just need to find someone of the opposite sex with which I can have fun and travel and stuff.
I can't believe I've done...7 states (Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York), nearly 2000 miles, met 4 wooters (Tall4aGirl, Pooflady, TennBee & D'Name) in a total of 9 days spread out over two months or so.
Add: Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Aruba, Curacao & England.
You can make your own map.
