It was nice, I suppose. He was a gentleman.

I had already told him in advance that I would pay for my own meal and that I would be driving my own car to the restaurant.

It wasn't the best or the worst date. It was lukewarm to good - not a lot of laughing, nor sharing of intimate secrets - just general conversation. There was no soulmate connection or need-you-now passion.

I didn't even give a kiss or handshake goodnight. Just a polite wave.
