It has the levers for the type that you have to be careful how fast you try to type otherwise two or more levers get jammed together. And a 'Shift' key that makes the entire carriage raise up. (And almost requires two hands to push ...)

Shows my age.

Edit: I also own a floor sweeper without an electrical cord, and a lawnmower without an engine. (Though I'm not likely to choose either of those tools first ...)

My mom had a typewriter with levers. I remember jamming the keys up. We thought it was funny try to the most to jam. I know my Mom wasn't thrilled with that. We still have our Commodore 128 in a box somewhere.

More importantly though; less than 13 hours remain in this dodgeball! Lets get some more stuff happening! Call your friends, Call your neighbors. Time is running out now! It will go faster than a K-Mart Blue Light Special!

The contest becomes "What ever happened to...?"

I could also do through-hole IC's, but a lot fewer would get that one.

I remember our first electric typewriter. It was really heavy, and keys would slap the paper so hard that you'd get a sort of braille effect on the other side of the paper. And pressing the Return key would shuttle the carriage over with enough strength to shake the table. Just the hum of turning it on said "Go away kids, this is a power tool!"

For those of you who played in high school or college band, you may remember
The Typewriter (not the full version, but enough).

heh, I'd forgotten about the middle section. We used a woodblock and a guy dressed like a bum who mimed the typing bit.

The rapidly disappearing art of penmanship? Awareness for endangered snails? The loss of the standard letter of correspondences? A blank wall is a good place to start!

Then you better start using this one:

Woundikins
Removed: 1836
diminutive form of "wounds"; mild oath
He shouted, "Great woundikins!" upon striking his toe, much to their amusement.

Maybe these can all be implemented with the new WebKins products! I'm a marketing magician!

And Josephus, I didn't take it as yelling. It was funner responding that way though.

I just found out my college has Photoshop on all the computers... now I can waste a LOT more time. Like I said, its the transfer from mind to paper/screen that is the rough spot. I have lots of good ideas... just no medium by which to express them... but that will come with practice. [/seriousness]

more things for me to photoshop please!
