Since Woot is ignoring my emails, I just sent them 50(!!) of the same email to service@woot.com, maybe they will respond to volume.
If this doens't work, next week I'll up it to 100 emails at a go.

I'm thinking that all this will do is cause them to block your email addy.

You could try plugging it in directly into the side of the unit and see if it will take a charge that way. Worth a shot. That is how we charged ours to begin with. Then call the Roomba people if all else fails. It seems they are top notch when it comes to customer service. I was sort of in the same boat you were. I waited to give mine as a Christmas present without testing first. Fortunately, mine worked as advertised.

Tomorrow will be 40 days and still NO BRUSHES. I'm glad I didn't buy the free roomba. This is just a case of completely lousy customer support on this one guys!

I am in the same boat. I have at least three 'cases' open on this. Everytime I reply to a response I've received from service@woot.com, I get assigned a new case number. And my emails to them have been
'It's been a week since you last told me the brushes were on their way. I still haven't seen or heard anything. May I have an update?'

I can claim case numbers

W-29418-L38L

Compared to the guy who sent 50 emails on the same day, it's small potatoes, but it's still pretty irritating to me.

I would love to see some of the emails these impatient people are sending. This was my FIRST w00t. I emailed them very politely in November. I received a reply about a Wine woot. I replied back saying that I was talking about the roomba, not a wine woot. They same guy emailed back apoligizing, and said he will give me the $5 credit and send the brush pack.

Then I was patient and waited. It took about 4 weeks, but I just got my brush pack from FedEx two days ago. Please be patient. W00t already has enough children to deal with.

If you reply to my post, it looks like you are talking to me. If you are not, I apologize. If you are, I just wanted to say that I think 40 days and only 2 follow ups IS pretty patient. The extra brushes were what sealed the deal for me.

Did you email them to ensure they had you 'on the list' for them, and that they actually shipped out? They can also provide you with tracking information. Got mine last week.

I was told that I was on the list... and they'd be getting them to me. They DID get me the 5 buck credit. But no brushes and NO tracking info as of today. I haven't emailed more than 4 times and not since two weeks after the whole fiasco. Part of me is thinking perhaps its just best that I keep the xtra roomba and call it even.

Happy to report I did get the other 2 missing brushes. Just got back from a 2 week vacation and they were waiting for me. GO WOOT! I wish the bags had been sealed tighter as I only got 2 bushings for three brushes (instead of 6). I guess I'll have to be extra careful cleaning them! Not Woots fault at all! Thank you Woot for taking care of things!

well i got mine in and charged it for the recommended 16 hours and it runs for about 30 seconds before it plays its 'im dead' tune and shuts off. pitiful woot. so much for buying refurbs. HOW DO I RETURN THIS THING?!?!

quality posts: 0 Private Messages leggo1

Dude - don't return it - just do what everyone else has done. Take out the battery, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Put battery back in plug the charger directly into the roomba port. Let it charge for 72 hours.

I fixed 1 of mine this way. the other did not work.

I called IROBOT support -- they sent me another battery very quickly no questions ask. this one I did the 72 hour trick immediately --- and all is good.

Love my Roombas.

I too, got my 2 extra brush kits, yesterday. No email notification -- they just magically appeared on my door step.

That is the last outstanding item in this rather long drawn out saga of a Woot. Glad it is over, and hope nothing so long drawn out happens again for everyones sake. Phewww.

Just for the record, I think I've wooted for the last time. The incident here with the brushes (along with the ad copy for the crap calendars shipping option changing in the middle of the day) has pushed me over the edge.

This is sad. It was a wild ride for 3 years. Oh well.

I am still waiting on the roomba brush kit from this woot, though. And yes, I've sent email with my order number. I've been told it will be in the next shipment out 3 different times now. Sad.

Okay, I'm tired of checking this blog and my mail box daily. This is why I didn't pay for the extra roomba right away. I worried about this kind of service. Looks like woot would rather i keep the xtra roomba than send me the brush pack they promised. I'm not asking or commenting on it anymore. The way I figure it, I got quite a deal.... keep the free roomba and lose the brush packs.

Works for me woot. I'll probably woot again, just more carefully the next time.

If you think your roomba is not holding a charge, try two things.
Pull the battery and then hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then charge it directly for 2 days.

Or call irobot and see if they can send you a new charging station, I know the one I got actually uncharged my robot, even though everything looked green and charged.

I have ordered five of these. Three have been defective. One won't return to the base station, another is a different lower grade model and the third won't recognize the "virtual wall". All in all it is a dicey proposition. nbrtmpr

I FINALLY received my extra brush today. The description said "spare brush pack" which gave me the impression that it included more than one brush. All I received is one brush, is that correct? I hate to complain again and have to wait another almost two months for another brush.

Thanks,

That's all I got - never a tracking number or anything, just a box showing up on the porch last week. I had an expectation of >1 brush as well, but I am tired of dealing with it.

nope. I felt kinda gyped on that one. Spare brush pack, IMO means BOTH brushes, not just one. I haven't complained cause I think I wooted for the last time on the 1st. I'm waiting on the item from that one. Its shipped stuck in a soration center.

Woot is becoming a rip off making people wait like this, having poor if any customer service. They need a larger staff and I feel with the amount of money they are making on these deals they can afford it.

Can you enlighten us on how much money they are making on deals? Seems like they are selling stuff much cheaper than anyone else so I'm not convinced they are rolling in dough unless you know otherwise....

One of the only things I've learned here is that if you don't hear back from an email to 'service@woot.com' within a day or two, you should email again, because you'll NEVER hear back regarding your original email. For some reason, if they don't respond within that 1 - 2 day timeframe, the email falls into some sort of 'black hole', and you will NEVER hear from them.

... actually, Woots profit margins are probably quite high. Although these items are a lot cheaper than retail, that doesn't mean they are not still marking up the prices quite a bit.

Just a little thing I saw in someone's signature elsewhere concerning Woot:
"8+ million subscribers X $10 a month x 25% profit margin = $20 million (An extremely low estimate of what Blizzard makes a month) Why bother to fix engineering when they are making money like that? "

I'm still waiting for my brushes also. Here is the response I received yesterday when I asked about the status....

Hearing that some of you HAVE received your brushes and then getting this response really makes me wonder what is going on. How can they ship some out if they haven't received a shipment yet????

On the plus side, w00t has been really quick in returning my emails. When I first emailed them that I was missing the parts, they responded within a couple of days and I had my 5$ credit about the same time. When I emailed yesterday, they responded within a few hours (email quoted above). The downside is that while it appears the shipment for others has come in, the shipment with MY brushes is still backordered.

Got a real junker from woot, felt ripped off. i have spent since November 14th attempting to get a replacement from Irobot and just now got it after two months of endless email. they did send me a brand new one however minus the battery, remote and stuff like docking station. it is brand new. but two months of BS is not worth it. i will never buy refurbished anything from woot again.

A reply to your message was sent yesterday. Here is the response. Please check your spam/junk mail filter to make sure that it was not caught in it. Thanks for Wooting!

Please email us once we know that iRobot will be replacing the unit. The brush will be ordered at that point.
