I got my three and I am pretty happy with them. The MSC/MTP thing is a pain, although I was actually able to get mine to sync in MTP mode running RhythmBox in Ubuntu. At least I don't have to rely on my one Micro$oft PC and WMP to be able to transfer music to it.

100+ Woots and countin'!

*sigh*

I'm not too pleased with Woot, this being my first order as a new customer. I placed my order of one Sansa 1GB the 22nd of November. As of this upcoming Thursday, I will have waited 4 weeks for the player to arrive. Very depressing. Is this behavior to be expected from an online-warehouse operation? Clearly something is amiss here.

Good luck getting anything with issues regarding Smartpost. I called both Fedex and USPS, and they both referred me to the other organization. Honestly though, Woot may have chosen the carrier, but they cannot control what happens to your item once they ship it. Smartpost is terrible, but that's not Woot's fault (again, except for the fact that they chose it). I would try Fedex and USPS and see what they can do. If you don't get anywhere, ask woot. They might be able to file a grievance on your behalf, or they might offer compensation for your frustration, its up to them.

The 'shipment accepted' thing means accepted by USPS from FedEx. It says 'delivered' when they have dropped it off at your home. Looks like its probably lost.

I got mine on Saturday. It might just be that this shipper has a backlog of items.

I live in Massachusetts, by the way. For anyone regionally curious.

Oh, and this works on my XP machine -- but not on my Vista machine.

Has anyone received a unit since getting the email saying that they were shipping out another? I was emailed on 12/6

Since your order appears to have been lost, we will ship another item out to you while we attempt to locate your package. Please allow a few days for the package to ship. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Thanks for Wooting!

I got mine last week and tried one. It crashes my computer instantly the moment I plug the USB cable in (apparent linux kernel bug resulting from plugging in an MTP device, but I'm gonna reflash the c240 with rockbox and use MSC so am not worried about this). The battery had residual charge of 1 bar and I plugged the player into a cell phone charger with a powered USB connector overnight. The player dutifully lit up when I plugged it in, and the battery icon pulsated like the battery was charging, but 10+ hours later when I unplugged it, it was still at 1 bar. Some ppl on the rockbox irc channel think I have a bad battery. I bought 3 players (figuring I'd brick at least one while messing with rockbox) so I guess I'll see if the others take a charge. I would have hoped they'd check out the batteries in these refurb (rox0rz!) players but I guess I'm not too surprised if they don't. Boy do I hate lithium rechargeables. But at least these things were cheap.

I lost the Great Sansa Lottery. I got a box with two air pillows and nothing else. My two letters to Woot have gone unanswered. There is no refund or replacement for me. I guess I bought one of the players that some other wooter got as a bonus.

Any other Sansa lottery losers out there?

"I had the same annoying problem after firmware update in my C240 (via Sansa Firmware Updater), but now everything is OK. I've just put older firmware and USB option is now enabled. All you have to do:
1. Go to http://zefie.com/files/PMP/sansa/ and download appopriate firmware (I had 01.01.05P and downloaded http://zefie.com/files/PMP/sansa/c200/firmware/1.01.00/SansaC200A1_01_00.7z and it works)
2. You have to enter Service Mode. To do that:
- turn the player off
- press HOLD button
- hold REC button and press MENU button (used to turn the player on/off)
- plug the player to the computer
- in My Computer you can see new drive 16MB-FORMAT
- copy unzipped files into it
- unplug the player
- release HOLD button

THIS WAS TO BE A GIFT FOR MY POPS. IF I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT...HE SURE AS HELL CAN'T EITHER.

I think Woot took a huge financial hit on these players. I lost on my box-o-air. You are probably another loser in the Great Sansa Lottery.

If you're giving these as Christmas gifts and you're concerned about the lack of packaging, try loading it up with content for the lucky recipient. That way you've got an excuse for it being unpackaged.

Now I'm sorry I didn't buy three of these. It was worth the price just to have a cheap player I could Rockbox without worrying about turning it into a brick. I didn't want to risk putting Rockbox on a more expensive player until I'd at least tried it out.

The wait for shipping WAS annoying, but I've come to expect that with Smart Post orders. What can you expect from a company that routes Dallas to Kansas City freight through Milwaukee?

Well,
I finally got my 2 players. They are actually the original ones sent...mysteriously in my city for 2 weeks before coming to my house.
The box was a little smooshed, but everything appears fine. Good luck to the other people still waiting.

I am another Wooter that didn't get my order for 3 media players. I emailed Woot.

If I don't get a favorable response, I can take it to my Credit Card issue and at least get my money back. I was really looking forward to the Media Players, though.

Smartpost FTL! I finally got both of my players and they are jacked up. One plays for 7 minutes on full charge then the battery dies and the second one locks up after playing for 3-4 minutes. I thought I would just swap batteries and have at least one good player but the seemingly good one started locking up too. I will attempt to get RMAsauce.

I bought three, two work great.

Third one seems to keep getting stuck after playing a handful of songs. It's like it pauses and doesn't want to unpause. Left alone, it will resume but after a few minutes. If you press a button you can hear it playing again for a fraction of a second, but then it acts like it pauses again. It doesn't matter what button you press, even the menu button they all act the same while it does this. If you jam on all the buttons it's like hearing a stop animation show with the start and stops. Even with the lock button on, you can jam on all the buttons.

Any ideas out there?

BTW, first Woot for me!

was informed the device is not covered under any warranty by scandisk.
