While I played around with my Studebiker entry, I thought about how much precedent there is for the contest theme in the real world. In bicycles, maybe no Studebakers nor Polaroids, but there are Porsche and Jeep bikes, or maybe a Jeep boombox is more your style; or maybe go upscale to the Hummer boombox.
Carmaker Ford has long made tractors; tractormaker John Deere made snowmobiles; and snowmobile maker Bombardier (Ski-Doo) makes most of a car under their Can-Am brand (the rest of the car, the other wheel, is also a Can-Am, and sure beats the Segway things, methinks)
It seems like everybody puts their brand on MP3 players; most have seen the HP iPods, and the Dell and Gateway players. How about the older computer makers like Commodore and Packard Bell? Then there are the Fisher Price and Disney players, NASCAR, and of course, Polaroid!
The first Honda on our shores, a Civic? Accord? No, the Honda 50 scooter; and now they are into robots, as is Toyota
