Morning Peoples.

Took today off. Yea! Gott a hit the shower in a bit to go get hairs cut. Son is getting his done after school. He's not happy. His bangs are down below his nose. I think it's time. He's got that stupid straight hair that just falls forward and he loves to hide behind them in class so he can sleep. Sigh.

Who fixes kitchen sinks?

A cube-dwelling paper pusher on his day off, that's who!

Who goes off and donates one pint of O-neg just so he can get the free snacks and a Red Cross T-shirt?

Same guy!

Round here we're never sent to bed early
And nobody makes us wait
Round here we stay up very, very, very, very late
I can't see nothing, nothing round here

Crank up the ol' mp3 player, Mr. Cruzer. Or just turn on a radio. Doesn't some nice female in your office have a radio playing a "lite rock" or country station?

Howdy folks. Went to the doctor this morning - he thinks it's just a cold, but that my tonsils are swollen and my ear looks like "it's under a lot of pressure". Because of past sinus problems I've had, he thinks that side just may not be draining. He said that if I feel worse over the weekend, to call and he'll call in an antibiotic prescriptionn. Oh... and last night I came down with my son's pink eye. I'm quite the sight. He didnt give me anything for that either - fortunately son's pediatrician gave me 2 refills on son's rx, so I will be using that.

Are you by any chance having second thoughts about your doctor?

I've only seen him twice now - he seems very conservative. I know there is a big push to reduce the amount of antibiotics people take, so I understand why he doesn't hand the scripts out willy-nilly. The jury is still out, that's for sure. Convenience and location are huge plusses, and I don't really go to the doctor a lot, so it's not like I have a ton of medical complications to deal with.

Yeah, pediatricians are tight with the antibiotic prescriptions too. You know that has to be treated.

Do you have a doc in the box near you? That would be an easy way, with no commitment, to get a second opinion.

I understand about the cold, but I would have thought he'd have given you something for the pink eye. Does that just go away? I've never had it.

Our pediatrician isn't actually as strict w/ the antibiotic prescriptions as i would expect. He's said, "it's probably just a virus" and then handed me a script several times. Sometimes I fill it, sometimes I wait. This last trip with my son, he gave me a antibiotic prescription for "just in case" but it's still hanging on the fridge. Maybe I'll get it filled for me.

If I'm not better by Monday, then I'll call and get a prescription from my doc - or head tot he "doc in the box" and get checked out there. I do feel like I'm improving from where I was a few days ago - with the exception of the eye.

I did confess to taking my son's medicine to him - maybe that's why he didn't give me anything? He did say that most pink eye infections were viral, and that they look worse than they are. The medicines simply reduce the discomfort, not get rid of the bug. My son's eye looked better after a few days on the medicine... and I've only had 2 drops, and there already seems to be less stuff oozing out.

Geez, lord v8r, not when people are pointing it out like that. It's got to be at least a little unexpected, like the Spanish Inquisition.
