Most people are familiar with Google Doodles, those neato holiday logos you can find at Google’s site on certain days. What if Woot started using their own “woot doodles”? We could call them Wootles! Okay, maybe not. At any rate, your task this week:

Modify the woot logo for a special day.

It could be a holiday, your birthday, or just a day that you want to commemorate in some way. Be creative!

Here’s a sample to get you started:

To commemorate May 25, 1977, the day the first Star Wars movie was released….

The fine print:

Please try to keep your entry at or below 550 pixels wide. Show your sources if you feel like it. Contest runs until Wednesday night at 11:59 pm. Voting will take place all day Thursday until 11:59 pm. Winner will be announced on Friday. Winner gets a virtual trophy designed by me, and the honor of running next week’s contest.

You guys are doing a great job...so many terrific entries! Glad the theme is going over so well. I think we'll end up doing a 1st-2nd-3rd system of voting.

Unfortunately, my father in law just passed away, and I will be leaving town earlier than expected for the funeral. I will probably still be able to get online in the evenings, but just wanted to give a heads up in case I'm AWOL for a little while.
