Great pics Tall! Love the one of the pup with his head buried. I haven't seen snow like that since Seattle.

Dname, I'm going to my first Italian wedding Apr 5 -- coworker's daughter. It's mind boggling to me. Wedding, full sit-down dinner with wine, bar, band, dancing, etc. It's running about $15K or more. Means I have to dress up though. Ugh.

$15K is a drop in the bucket. The last Italian wedding we went to was easily over $100 per person, and I could have sworn there were 150+ there. Daughter will have to set her sights a little lower - or marry rich.

They're doing all the organizing themselves so they're able to cut expenses a ton. Otherwise, I'd hate to think what it would cost. I think they're doing 130 or so.

Off to make the invite list. Dear God, please don't let us have to invite the kids of the in-laws friends of friends. Please.

Mel (short for Melbourne). Have fun... I had one wedding, it was 15 years ago, and it was $10K... I thought it was exorbitant at the time, but then went to one here in South Jersey, and it was probaby $90K+ easy...

Actually, due to incredibly poor timing of our other snows, most schools are out of snow days, so I think the kids were ok with an early dismissal Friday and a weekend to play. They're talking about more snow overnight Sunday. I hope it doesn't mess up my commute!

I'll post updates if something major comes down (like the oak!), but overall, yes. Nothing to shovel. Of course, it's testing the waterproofness of our old windows. We also apparently are getting a scad of moss in the lawn too.

The nice thing about shoveling is you have that nice end point to the job. Plus you get to play in the snow afterwards. Mud just isn't as exciting.

It's stood for 120+ years, but it is starting to lose large branches in the last few. When it goes, we won't have much house left, so we treat it nice

I saw your shoes ... Cowboy Junkies

Edit:
I saw your shoes by the kitchen door
and I knew I missed you
I saw your shoes by the front door
and I began to miss you more
I saw your shoes on the landing
and lord I knew I cared
I saw your shoes pretty baby
and I longed to have you there.

I saw your shoes by the record player
and I wished you'd call me
I saw your shoes by the tv set
I prayed you'd call
I saw your shoes by the couch
and I longed to feel your touch, babe
I saw your shoes pretty baby
and I had to have you there.

I see your shoes by the shower stall
and I begin to wondering
I see your shoes by the bedroom door
and my hearts starts pounding.
I see your shoes at the foot of the bed
and I start laughing
I see your shoes, pretty baby,
but most of all I see you.

Pretty much. We think baby is beginning to settle which is a good thing for mrstl's ribs. I have a horrible flu (going on 8 days now) that I can't seem to shake, but she seems to not have come down with it.

So you wouldn't play in the mud just for fun? Hot summer day, nice cool mud...

Heh.

On the other major front, I just finished putting together a combination recipe and oral history book that culminates two classroom projects. I think the students' families are going to love this one. I am using viovio to print the book. Anyone used them? Prices are good. I ordered one copy to see how the product will look. Much of the design is a hack job (I taught myself Indesign in one evening.), but the content is great.
