Eggs all colored and on their way to their respective homes. One of the grandkids wanted to know if grandpa and I hunt for Easter eggs Easter morning.

Nope, but I did have a window open. Then I walked out of the room for a minute and husband closed it. We have different internal thermostats.

i have a question for you ladies. Why can't I tell my mom about my job? I posted on my cafemom page, talked to a bunch of my friends, talked a little to you guys (though not much, comparatively), heck I've even started applying to a part time thing here in town. So I called my Mom because she sent us a package and I always let her know when stuff like that arrives, and we talked about nothing for 30 minutes, but I couldn't tell her.

Is she going to be mad she is the last to know when I do tell her?

Evenin', all. A quick update:
Still very busy at work. Still lots of shuttling kids to/from practice. Driving to Tennessee and back tomorrow with my sister to drop her kids off with their father.

The bright spot is that, on Tuesday, I am heading to Vegas for a short vacation.

electronic: search for "resume*" in filename on your hard drive
hard copy: no clue, but your boss probably has it on file somewhere. Ask him, I think he'd understand why you need it now

I don't think that my pants are too tight! miniskirt is doing as much to help your figure as you think.

I think I am just not looking forward to the conversation. I don't really want her to feel bad for me, and nag me about getting a new job. That doesn't feel like all of it, but maybe it is.

As far as having a job after next Friday, no the meeting didn't go well. As far as having a nice chat with my boss, it went alright. He is leaving, I am caught up on my projects. Without him to wrangle projects and funding there is no work for me. Maybe the next Manager will come in and want a GIS/data monkey, maybe not.

I had a pretty unique deal. It's going to be hard to find something to replace it. I was working from home, reporting in irregularly, doing projects that involved a lot of old data and generally a mess. It meant my kids didn't have to be in daycare all the time, and I didn't have to commute all the time. It also got very tedious and frustrating. While finding another job is probably the best idea, being able to afford another job will be the question, as will affording to stay home for now.

My poor boss isn't going to have it easy either, he is going to be living 300 miles away from his wife.

KtC, perhaps your mom doesn't understand the type of work you do and/or the type of job you had (extremely flexible). As you say, finding another like that will not be easy; explaining it isn't either. Just my 2 cents.

With kids, you need the insurance.

Technically he has insurance, but it is a small business so it's expensive. The pay rate isn't very high here. I am sure the discussion of whether we should move will be coming back.

How did you end up living there? Did you go to school there?

Yes, we met at the University here. Orc lived here several times a a boy, it's the closest thing he has to a home town.

It' a good town, a good place for kids. Orc and I didn't gaduate the same year, so to move meant giving up a job (typically mine), and he has always found work here. We do feel it is home, we were even married up here.

Then once they hit middle school, you are really stuck.
We had a family move off the block when I was a kid. As soon as those kids drived, they came right back.
So they moved to an upper middle class neighborhood, but hung out in the working middle class neighborhood where they grew up.
The parents should have just waited until the girls got married and then moved.

Orc's older brother was in junior high when they moved from here to SC. His brother was very upset about it. He did end up marrying a local girl though and is the only family member still down there.

There are Universities near my parents, but there are asons I didn't attend them. Orc's mom is in a small town in the midwest, now married to a doctor. We are pretty sure we would go nuts living near either of his parents though. We do talk of following everyone else to the coast.

Getting off the computer for a bit, bbl
