Amazon reviewers give it a 3. That's worth thinking about.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

This is the same price on Amazon, except Amazon has the free shipping (with $25 purchase). Sorry woot.

Edit: OOPS, Amazon doesn't include the USB adapter. Then I'm REALLY sorry woot.

I'm buying it then..I'm about to upgrade phones.

Got these last time they were on woot, they're horrible. Signal range is about 6-10 feet, and the audio is horrible.

Really, crap.

Nope.

does it work with Mac???

I bought this last time. The headset has a blinking blue light and you can't stop it from blinking. I wouldn't be seen in public with a bluetooth headset anyway (they are the new fanny pack as another wooter said) so it doesnt matter for me. But if you want to be a target for people to throw stuff at you, this will give them a motivation to hurt you.

Bring back the 4 O'Clock Flash!!!

Wow, this was $12.99 in January. And it's still just as crappy.

Blue blinking light? Sounds like Star Trek stuff. Maybe I won't buy it after all.

"shouldn’t’ve"

I love it! You're not supposed to use two contractions in the same word but I'm a proponent for doing so anyway. When we look back at the naughties (i.e. 2000-2009), I'm sure we wouldn't've had it any other way.

The bluetooth dongle DOES NOT WORK ON CANNON PRINTERS. You need a more expensive Canon brand dongle.

I got one of these before. They are horribly uncomfortable. I used them with my cell phone and they worked. But the version that has the ring that goes around your ear is really uncomfortable. The version that has a regular earbud style headphone and you clip the mic onto your shirt is better.

Don't know any more about noise cancelation, dropping connections, etc as I couldn't wear it long enough to test.

worth it for the price.... but here is what i think:

headset:
Battery life is great... at first.
blinking light can be distracting while driving at night. maybe i should slow down so i wont be paranoid.
doesnt like to be thrown at the wall... also the clip that it comes with may break if you arnt nice to it. that wuz teh funneh

dongle:
No comment... seems to work fine once you set it up.

i bought one b4 for my nokia n95. everytime i talk to someone with it, they can always tell if i'm using soyo or jabra. they never hear me well and it tends to disconnect by itself way more than the jabra.

The bluetooth thingy I never got working properly :P

but the USB bluetooth dongle is amazing. It comes with BlueSoleil drivers, and best of all, it's compatible with the Wii remote (wiimote).

If you've ever wanted to play with the wiimote on the computer, get this woot!, get a wiimote, and download the glovepie controller emulator. It works like a charm!

There are also some user-built APIs out there useful for making wiimote based games and such.

Does anyone know if the USB adapter is completely independent of the headset? I need a couple of blue tooth USB adapters to send the pictures off of my phone to my computers. I don't need the earpieces (wouldn't wear them), but I haven't found a blue tooth USB adapter this cheap.

sauron974

quality posts: 1 Private Messages sauron974

Ugh! Got these last woot. The ear piece is painful, the audio is godawful, the bluetooth drivers for the USB dongle are kludgy and unintuitive, the whole thing feels flimsy. I would not recommend.

Adding another "Me too.." to the collective internet consciousness.

nettolt wrote:I could use one. great. For only 10 bucks how can you go wrong.

You can go wrong by buying this. Don't do it!
p.s....the dongle software is even worse than the headset.

I bought this thing for the dongle back last time it was on woot.

Don't know about the headset or any proprietary software, but the dongle is correctly recognized and works find on a Debian Etch system. Got it connected to all my Wiimotes with minimal effort.

Both the headset and USB adapter are Bluetooth Version 1.2. Which means ~Less than 33' of coverage.

Does anybody know if bluetooth is backwards compatible?
Say if my phone supported Bluetooth version 2.0 would this headset work with it?
