In for 2.. Paid 25 bucks for an Air Hog. Basically the same thing. Use the proper weight in the front and they will fly forward, not just go in circles. They are very durable, just dont fly into a bucket o water. The Air Hog did not like that for some reason. RIP..

The 6 batteries last for a lot longer than you might think. 10 charges or so with good batteries. They are great little toys, and for 10 bucks you can't go wrong.

Zeusandhera wrote:Does anyone have one? How loud is it?

It can be kinda noisy, mostly a high-pitched whine from the motor with a pleasant fan-like whoosh of the rotor. I have one (my first woot!) for this price and another I bought from the place I work at for $20, both about the same, just slightly different controllers and body design and stickering. Great fun, guaranteed to interest kids of all ages and either scare or intrigue animals. Make sure you have LOTS OF CLEAR ROOM to practice in, otherwise you might break it before you get to enjoy it. And finally, if you have pets, or dust, or dust pets, don't fly it anywhere it'll get a lot of hair in the rotor area, 'cuz it's difficult to untangle it and get it all out.

kcribari wrote:its good stuff dude. i've crashed it hella times and its still flying. comes with some light sticky weights to put on the nose since there is no yaw control. got one at christmas. you'll need the replacement rear rotor it comes with.

in for 3.

Not to get picky, but it's pitch control you need. Yaw control you have - that's the left right that you get when you speed up or slow down the tail rotor. Pitch control leans it forward or back, to make it move forward or back. BTW - I've got several of the styrofoam models, and stick pins - like you'd use at work in your cubicle - work great as weights to be able to go forward. Just don't stick it into the Li-Po battery, or you won't get very far at all....

I'm in for 3 - these are great - especially at work, flying them into someone else's cubicle!!

I've played with these a lot.

They are very quiet. They are quite fun, and hard to control, but you get the hang of it. They are quite durable provided you don't be too wreckless. One problem, all hair and dust in a 573 foot radius gets sucked into the rotor. So be sure to check that often to keep it at its best. In for 17.

The last week or so, woot has been pretty weak. I hope that's either a sign of a woot off or a real big deal. I have bought about 5 of these stupid helicopers.

Does anyone have one of these who lives at a higher altitude, like in Colorado? I got one of these for Christmas, but I was never able to get it off the ground and think the altitude might make a difference.

If you plan on sitting outside in your lawn chairs to fly these helis, it's going to have to be in the early morning, or the late evening, as these are IR devices. You will not be able to control it very well in the afternoon sunlight. Of course, if you just happen to have lawn chairs sitting in the living room, you're good to go.

Hmmm. Sounds like the gravitational pull up on Pikes Peak is a bit stronger then at sea level. Try adding an SRB. Solid Rocket Booster!

I have the havoc heli ones that are all foam. this looks like it would break easier since its plastic- the landing gear looks flimsy.

my havoc works great even after multiple collisions- this seems like it would break after one.

the gravitational pull would actually be less but not significantly. The air would be less dense tho and that could potentially make a difference.
