Same "ordered 2 got 1" story here. Wish they would consider most wooters order multiple low-cost items since it only makes sense with $5 shipping on these as a few people mentioned before. E-mailed woot and received a refund 15 minutes later. Killed my 1st one and was waiting for the 2nd :'(.

How far I press the button doesn't help. It just won't stop spinning. Counter-clockwise, BTW, not clockwise. It's the same direction it spins if I remote the tail rotor completely. Basically, I don't think the tail rotor is working on mine. Or at the very least, not working enough.

Well, mine spins counter-clockwise alot too, but I can get it trimmed out by pressing the "right" trim button quite a few times. Give it a little power, but not enough to make it fly, and look to see if the tail rotor spins. It should, even at low speed.

It also helps if it's fully charged.

Yep, you guessed it...I also ordered 2 and got 1. They obviously oversold their stock, especially since they also sold the same helicopter during the Woot-off a few days later.

I posted a comment last week or so after contacting Woot and being told "no second helicopter for YOU" but I was quickly refunded my paypal money. I was happy with that since I would have ordered one anyway and paid the $5 shipping.

Then today I received an email from Woot with a nice little code for a $5 off a future Woot purchase!

Greatly appreciated, Woot staff. I would say that I will happily use this code whenever I score my next Bag of Coffee, but we all know that taking the time to type in this code before slamming the big yellow button just won't work.

Just wanted to say thanks for the great customer service!

edited to add: I guess I can expect to see it when I quit using the mobile app that only show withdraws and no credits. Thanks woot - I am super happy!

Wow, you guys are the lucky ones I guess.

I haven't received a single email back, nor refund, nor second helicopter.

Hi All. I could use some help with my copters... yep, I ordered three and received three but so far it's not doing me any good! One charger has the right number of battery springs, just not where they ought to be! 2 battery slots have NO springs and 2 slots have 2 springs each - crazy! Can the springs be moved??

One charger has all the springs in the correct places. Added batteries. Plugged the charger into the copter. Do I leave the charger switch on off during charging?? I get a flashing red light if I turn the switch on, no ligths at all if it's off... never a greeen charging status light. How long should I charge for (if it's really working)?

I haven't opened the 3rd copter yet.. maybe I'll be 3rd time lucky.

I'd appreciate any walk thru tips as I really want to give these little guys my best shot before contacting Woot. Thanks. Jayne

The red light is not related to charging (on mine). It goes out after so many minutes of non-use of the directional levers/controllers; regardless of charging. The green light should be lit when you plug the charger into the choper. I don't think I have seen any springs on mine - I just plug it in. I will look Tuesday when I fly it again.

Hey, if Woot had bothered to compensate ME with a discount code I wouldn't have complained...but they DID NOT....so you cannot have what they didn't bother to give me!

I found out why they over-sold these, it's right here:

rausch713 - thanks for that info. I am not getting the green charging light at all but will try again.

The springs I mentioned are in the battery past of the controller - they push against the batteries to ensure contact and they are needed to make each battery give out power. I have 2 battery slots with too many springs (no good) and 2 without any springs (no good).

This is frustrating to say the least.

I would let Woot! know about the springs issue, and maybe they will give a new one or a refund. That is definitely wrong. However, if you want to try and fix it yourself, I'm sure if you remove the four screws on the back of the remote/charger, then you could probably just flip the right spring assemblies around the correct way.

As far as charging goes, you have to have the remote/charger's power turned on, and the power on the chopper turned off. My chopper's charging port is very sensitive, and I have to push the plug in until the green light on the remote/charger lights up, and then somehow get it to stay in and not pull out...and then not touch the chopper or table until it's charged and the green light goes out. It seems like the plug is staying in better after a few chargings, probably because the charging cord has gotten more flexible, and doesn't pull back as much. Also, the green charging light won't come on if the chopper is already charged. Good luck!

I need the luck! Ok, I have 2 chargers that I can a least get a steady red light on when turned on. Progress!

On the yellow copter I can make the needed connection - but the green charge light stays on for maybe 2 seconds only. This is even if I hold the connections by hand. If I then wiggle the connections, I can get the green light to flash on and off - but never can I get the green light to stay on for more than 2 seconds. Approximately how long does it take for a copter to fully charge?

Should I be able to get the copter to show some small sign of life while still connected to the charger?

Where/how exactly do I turn the power on and off at the copter itself?? I do see the sticker that shows "off/chg/on" but I can not get the port to move up and down at all... is there some switch or something I am not seeing?

Also, the red charge light on the controller will go off by itself after several minutes - but I think I read on a previouspost that this is "normal"...?

Lastly, I appreciate this help! I am not a ditz and this is really bugging me! I feel rather determined to get at least one copter working! I've spent a couple of hours already messing with the 3 copters.

O.K., I have outlined the power switch in a yellow box in the following picture:

It is the little black thing with the nub on it. It is very small, and I can hardly move it with fairly small fingers. Up is OFF, and down is ON.

It seems to take about 10 mins to fully charge. The owners manual says 8 mins.

If your chopper's power is OFF, and the green charging light won't stay on for more than a couple seconds, even with you holding it in the port....then maybe you should get new batteries?

I don't know if the chopper will even charge with it's power on, so I don't know if you could detect life while charging it.

The red light will go off after you make the charging connection, and the green light stays on.

You are the BEST! It was the pwer swich toggle on and off I was missing. I have 2 of the copters flying (well, if you can call what we are doing flying!) and the 3rd one gets the "flight light" also but as the controller battery case is screwed up I can't use it. I should be able to figure out it's channel and be able to use one of the other controllers. The hubby and DD are flying them right now in the family room - sounds like they are having fun! I am off to join them.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!

Has anyone that has had trouble gettting the copter to re-charge found any tips/tricks??

My yellow copter/controller unit is great...flies, re-charges, lot's of fun!

The blue and red copters flew out of the box but I can not get them to accept a recharge no matter what I try - and I've tried every combo I can think of. They will not charge using the charger that works for the yellow copter either so I am thinking the woring on them for re-charging is just plain not working. Or I need someone to share the trick/tip.

If I ask for/get a refund for the 2 non-re-charging copters, do I have to send them back to Woot!? I have all the packaging but would like to throw it all out if I can.

Bought 3 of these. They were fun while they lasted. One the stabilizer arm broke off in just a few flights and then the on-off switch broke clean off. The second one flies for about a minute before it begins to loose altitude. The third one was the best, but now the stabilizer arms are coming off.

Good for you! You are WAY ahead of me in this mess.

I am waiting on my refund. I had to mail back the 2 non-working (non-recharging actually) - cost me almost $7! - and I guess I'll get the purchase price back when they receive the copters. So... one working copter will end up costing me (round numbers) $10 + $5 (origonal S/H) + $7 for the return shipping = $22 for one copter. OUCH!

I haven't bought many Woots! and the ones I did buy have been pretty good deals, but this one takes the bloom of the rose.

EDIT: I am very happy now with WooT!. They recieved my returns and credit me back my FULL purchase price... so in the end I paid almost $7 (the cost of the return shipping) for the one working copter I received. I think this is very fair. And I am reallly glad this as I was so disapponted until I realized that they did do the right thing that I had virually stopped checking for the daily Woots. Now I can shop agian with confidence. Thanks Woot!
