I only have one gadget this will fit into - my Verizon mobile phone, but since they did such a good job of locking down the bluetooth and other functions, I don't even need the 1gb MicroSD card I already bought for the phone. Good price, though. Really good price, although I don't know jack about this specific brand.

Yep, I understand that... but 3 with the google checkout will be less... btw mine does say made in Japan on it...

Usually, for everyday use, all flash memories perform the same because there are not a lot of flash memory manufacturer out there.
If you open some SD cards, you will often find Samsung memory chip inside for example, even in "unknown" brands.

What can change from brand to brand is the flash memory controller that provides the interface between the flash memory and the SD host. This means that error corrections might be better in some brand than in others for instance, but I'm sure it will not be noticeable in most cases.

What vary greatly is speed. A SanDisk Extreme III SD card is and will always be faster than a $5 SD card. But in a lot of uses you don't need speed...

So... I'd say that this card is probably just fine, if you don't need a crazy speed.

Example here. You can clearly see the controller (the small chip) and the main flash memory chip.
Another example here (this looks like a Hynix flash memory in a fake SanDisk card - SanDisk would use their own flash chips !)
And here is an interesting one.

I lost my spaghetti. =( hiss. I just bought one off NewEgg for about $15 (after shipping and tax). Though they're just a city away and I did get it the very next day with standard shipping after having order it at 3 in the afternoon, so it was worth it. Hmm... could always use another though...

The sidekick 3 uses microsd (I think) which is what this is. Mini sd is more square. Sandisk labels theres as transflash.

I've had a couple Dane-Elec USB thumb drives (2 GB and 4GB) for a year or so now. They've been very heavily used and have never failed mechanically or via corrupted data, etc.

More than I can say for my PQI 8GB.

So Dane-Elec is fine by me.

As cheapie back ups, they're ok. I don't see the harm in blowing about $25 on them and stashing them away

Also microsd CAN work in a miniSD slot with an adaptor (Not the one this comes with though.

Amazon has the 2gb kingstons for $11.99
In my experience, they are extremely good and fast (no lag/crashes in nintendo DS flash carts)
The woot one's a deal if you buy more than one.

what speed is 60x?

Hashpot this won't fit in your sidekick 3, minisd is slightly larger than microsd/transflash and will not work unless you have an adapter. Some microsd cards come with both mini and sd adapters, this appears not to.

I'm waiting on my Kingston 2GB micro from buy.com - it came with both mini and regular adapters plus a USB reader, for $14.95 shipped. Definitely a better deal if you only want 1 card because of the versatility, but this is also a great buy if you pickup 3.

Dammit... I hate when something cheap like this comes out. There is someone that has to say it's cheaper at buy.com if you use Google checkout for the 1st time.

I would think that a person will use the $10 discount on something more expensive than a cheep memory card.

Plus this is a great bargain if you buy 3.

Edit: I meant at least 25+ people not someone like I mentioned above.

That's pretty much what I thought. And if you know kids that need mem cards for their games, they can be used for that as well (better than getting scammed in the store to buy 1GB for $15 - $20 sometimes)
