Yeah, get 10 of them tomorrow for $1. That's the way woot works. If they don't sell out today they offer it the next day for $1 but you can only get 10. Unless you create a new account then you can order 10 more but if they catch you with more than one account they come to your house and take your dog. So, you might want to play it safe and get it today just to be sure.

I bought one! I love looking at old ads! I'm planning on replying to a number of different classified ads from the past!

I can't believe RS mag is still around. I thought they died when 8 tracks left us. Either way, wasn't worth the time/money then, and even more useless now.

Pass!

You mean those fuddy duddies who created computers and ipods so that you could cruise the internet and tote your tunes around? Without em, you'd be getting your music information from...Rolling Stone magazine.

Those guys weren't in their 50s when they created computers and ipods and 8-track tapes, and they weren't fuddy duddies back then. Now that they are in their 50s, well, ...

It's probably not going to be a collector's item that will be worth big bucks someday, it won't provide a service for you or get you anything (other than a subscription to said magazine) for free, and it won't make you cool if you own it. It will provide you with everything you'd find in every issue of Rolling Stone magazine from 67-07 in an easier-than-sifting-through-over-1,000-magazine-hard-copies format. That's it.

Yes, you should receive tracking information once your order ships.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

And that book should have little fold-down legs, so if you don't HAVE a coffee table, the book BECOMES the coffee table.

Looking forward to receiving my RS . . .

Back in 2000, the band announced they were ending their tenure. They only recently got back together. Hence why I quoted "last" concert upfront.

Here's this same collection at Barnes and Noble. It's definitely not $25 there!
You gotta do your research before you slam the stuff on here. Here's the same one that Woot has on Barnes and Noble's site. It's $100...

Digital and Collectible are two contradicting words/concepts...

I am a long time subscriber of RS and I don't see any value in this digital archive.

I know this thread is dead, but I just wanted to say thanks W00T for making my GF happier than ever that I can now throw out all of my RS mags! I've had a hard time convincing her to let me keep them, and now I can finally be happy to throw them out, and this will be even easier to reference articles, etc. It is a win-win situation! Woot!

And I am only 24, so those of you who are saying "50 somethings" get this, well you don't know your good music apparently. True, the last 15 years of RS have been carp (finally ended my subscribtion in 2005 after about 10 years of hoping they would take a turn for the good again). But the first 25-30 years are priceless. Reading all of the old Thompson articles will be great!

I pressed the "buy it" button but got no confirmation screen. And no confirmation email. I did this on IE. I repeated it on Firefox and also go no purchase. This seems to go on a lot, judging from people's comments. Does anyone know what's going on?

w00t seems to be behind on the tracking #'s , the 3 I did receive (of the 6 purchases made since wootoff) came days after the items were shipped...

The good news, makes the wait that much easier when you're not watching your box's every move! Especially frustrating when you see 'sortation center arrival' for 3 days and know someone overlooked your box... you have to wait for another dope to see it sitting in the corner before getting the eventual departure message and inevitably watching it go FURTHER away from your house!!!

I got mine today. It didn't even show shipped yet. The 12.95 subscription card does allow you to send it into an alternate address, along with a copy of the receipt, to get a refund, instead of the year's subscription.
Well worth it after the rebate.

Using Vista 64, I had to download a patch from Bondi before it would work.

Ha. I'm glad I read your post. I didn't read the fine print that you can get a rebate instead. I have to say, those who put down this deal blew it. There's an amazing amount of history here. Well worth $32 after rebate.
