Finally got mine!

I ordered 1, then begged for 3 due to button issues, which the Woot Gods allowed. (and my fairly large box did have "3- Random carp" on the shipping label).

I received:

1 ubiquitous Polaroid DVD recorder. Just tossed in the top of the box, upside down. (many of the Texas Air Bubbles gave their lives trying to protect it). It seems to actually be almost brand new otherwise-- the accessories were still in a never opened bag-- remote, manual, sealed batteries, cables, quickstart guide, the white plastic wrapping that goes around electronics, etc. The inside looks mostly new, although the sides of IDE cable ports were broken and glued back on..?? (hard to describe but I wonder if they yanked out cables, broke them, and just glued it back together?) Unit starts up but doesn't do much, need to find true 40 pin IDE cables. The top doesn't seem to want to slide all the way in, the front panel got slightly broken in transit, too (it's about 1/16" too low) -- I am thinking I may still be able to get it fully closed.

1 Logitech Xbox headset. I don't think I have a use for this-- can it work with anything else? (I have an Xbox, but don't usually game online and don't have Xbox Live)

1 limited edition bird figurine (only 5000 made-- for all I know this will be worth bucks!)

1 Targus memory card wallet (I actually REALLY needed something like this and is worth the $8 alone)

So overall, a pretty good haul! I am actually excited about the DVD recorder, I really hope I can get it going. Thanks, Woot! Happy birthday!

I know I'm not supposed to complain, but geez, I think I want my $8 back.

Got 12 Nike sport armband crappy things that I got from the last bag!!
Memory Card holder
A tootsie pop porcelain thing... (would've been worth the $8 if I got an actual one as opposed to this fake piece of crud)
A coffee maker

Nothing of usage to me. I would've been satisfied if we had gotten a B&D battery pack and that's it. At least it can be used. Not sure what to do with all this besides bin it.

Thanks anyway woot... I guess.

This is weird. I tried to track my carp today from my notebook on a wireless connection (since it was supposed to arrive today, well yesterday now) and I get this error when I click the link from woot's email:

I figure it might be because I'm on an unsecured wireless network.

No carp when I got home, but when I tried to check the tracking page again from my home network I get the same error. I only get the error on my notebook (even when it's plugged into the wired network), when I check it from my desktop it loads fine. It still lists 7/22 as the delivery date. It better be here tomorrow then.

Ebay your stuff... you should make your 8$ back plus some.

I'm still waiting for mine ... I came home yesterday and found that the Mailman actually dented my mailbox trying to force a package into it ... It was a package for my wife from KOOL (the cigarette company)... apparently they sent her a couple portable speakers.

We have no idea why, neither of us smoke, but the speakers are pretty neat.

YAY Lung Cancer!

My Random carp arrived. I received=

1x Motorola Bluetooth headset
1x Happy 4th B-day card (English)
1x Kodak AIO 5300 printer, respiffied, but factory complete.

Everything was shipped in my printer box. No texas air, but I'm certainly not going to complain. The printer retails for $149 new. I got a similar Kodak printer (not as nice) in my first Buffering of Computer, when most got a Roomba or a printer. Easily my nicest carp yet. Happy B-Day woot! Here's to many more.

skakebite wrote:Just busted mine open. I had dreams of a Nokia N95 and thought my dreams had been answered when I saw a Nokia box. Not quite, but not bad:

1 Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. Looks to be a return or something. Missing usb cable and charger. Powered up fine when I put the battery in.
1 Porcelain violin box
1 Targus Memory case
3 Black and Decker portable power gizmos.

This was my second bag o carp. First time truly was carp. This one was a score.

You TOTALLY scored! I have the n800, and it's an awesome gizmo. Totally my favorite toy. And it can do a hell of a lot if you load the new 0S2008 and different apps 'n stuff. Congrats!

Screwed.

My base unit appears fine, but the handset doesn't power up at all, even after a 24 hour charge. Any Ideas?

I thought for 1 second I hit the motherload....Not 4 Logitech Keyboards...4 Logitech Cordless Headset for XBOX. Look like those go on eBay, unless my very inventive and resoursful kids have a use for them.

12 bags of Texas Fumes.

A beautiful nostailgic Tootsie Pop porcelin trinket box

The Targus memory card holder.

And a VECTOR WAX PRO RANDOM ORBITAL POLISHER!!! It turned on just fine, and I have SEVERAL items that I wish to try this puppy out on!!!

Thrilled wooter here!!!

WOW! Great stuff in my Box of Cookies x 3

2 Logitech Xbox cordless headsets. Each of my adult kids has an Xbox, so this is great for them.

1 limited edition Tootsie Roll Pop enameled jewelry box (only 5000 made-- for all I know this is worth bucks! For example, on BIDZ.COM, typically about $30 each)

1 Targus Flash memory card carrier. Pretty cool, 'cause I usually carry several flash cards in my pocket. Now they'll be protected.

And the best of all.............

3 (yes 3) subscription packages to Lo-Jack laptop recovery service for 3 years each. This is a $89.95 value EACH at Amazon.com or other retailers like Circuit City, so worth well over $250 just for these. I have three laptops (mine, daughter's, and girlfriend's) so this is PERFECT.

I'm elated. Way to go, WOOT!

Pretty slick. Basically a mini-computer.

Mine arrived a day earlier than expected! It just arrived in Hampton, VA this morning from Martinsburg, WV. What a surprise.

In the box:
The obligatory memory card holder by Targus
A Greatland Outdoor 12V coffee maker w/mounting bracket and a single filter ( it got such poor reviews at Amazon that it will probably just go into the trash)
Shotgun shell with shot porcelain hinged box ( a rather unusual little item)
A Kensington , 5 button wireless Mouse
15 bags of air and a blank piece of paper

Not bad for just ordering one (don't chide me, it took so long to get to the buy page, I didn't have an option to buy more )

10 Random Bags of Crap and a whole lot of other stuff

Basically... if you can find a free unsecured wi-fi signal, you can connect to it.

The town I live in has a Wi-Fi objective, basically any where in the main town area and shopping areas offers free wi-fi.

Otherwise you'll be looking for a starbucks or fast-food chain that offers free wi-fi.

Or you could always drive down a subdivision and find someone with an unsecure connection .

P.S. I totally hope I get one of those

2 of the exact same porcelin box thingy (songbird)! Just what I always wanted!! 1 Targus memory card case
1 xbox headset
1 Oregon Scientific Phone ***obviously broken***

First time the stuff in my box probably isn't worth the $8, but a whole lot of fun hearing what everybody else got and imagining what could be in mine. I actually wish it had taken a couple more days to get here. Not posting pics since there are plenty of everything I got.

Sweet, I called the USPS office in my home town (use google maps to get the local number) and asked him what "Arrival at Unit" meant he said that they usually scan "Arrival at Unit" if it comes in the morning and is given to the carrier to be delivered.

We'll see what happens .
