Got my Burned out Camaro today. Here's what Woot bestowed on me for my 3x carp order:

1x 29 piece Duracut knife kit
1x AT&T 5.8 Ghz cordless phone set MISSING batteries. (If someone else got them let me know... I could use a new set of phones. ;-))
1x Memory card holder
3x B&D Pocket Power chargers
1x Odd little pouch of Bluegears adapters obviously for some type of charger

Definitely not bad for my first carp. Thanks, Woot, and happy birthday!
Still, I would have rather had one of those DVD recorders... Anyone want to trade for some B&D Pocket Powers? ;-)

The usual stuff.

I'm jealous of those who got the Nokia stuff

I got kind of a weird one:

-Full box of Nike Sport Armbands for iPod Nano (10)
-"Slinky" (slinky in hand) hinged box
-Targus Memory Card Case
-Veg-N RTV Visual Entertainment Generator (sealed)

Still trying to figure out how much the RTV thing is worth, although this G4 review says $159 ( http://www.g4tv.com/reviews/features/50389/Review_RTV_Newest_Visual_Entertainment_Generator_VEGN.html ) so I can't complain.

And of course I'm happy to sell it or trade it (or anything here for that matter) if someone has something cool to offer. I don't check my PM's here often, so email me at garfep [at] gmail [dot] com instead.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my haul, even if I won't use any of it. I can't complain for less than $10. Thanks, woot!

Hey, I am less than 20 miles from Brooklyn Park, and I, too have been waiting (impatiently) for the delivery... Looks like I get it today, though. Finally moved from the 'Sortation Center'.

Got mine today...the usual memory card holder, a tootsie roll pop hinged box, ten Nike sport armbands, and Jabra noise cancelling headphones with a whole bunch of weird little earbuds and cords for who-knows-what. Hubby may be able to use the headphones on a long plane flight this week. Hope my kids can give all the armbands to their friends, I don't have an ipod and I don't exercise! Thanks WOOT for a good laugh.

Well, got some spare parts together to piece together my Frankencorder-Polaroid DVD recorder, to mostly very good success. Got a spare 40GB HD, some 40 pin IDE cables, and hooked it all up-- to my shock/surprise, the silly thing actually booted up! Formatted the HD, let it scan for channels, and it seemed to work great. Did some test recordings and burned a DVD which played fine on another DVD player. (although I did a DVD quality scan and it was pretty questionable but hey, it cost me $1)

I'm REALLY happy with it, especially since it has a digital tuner... I'm hoping to maybe get it working in time for the Olympics to record stuff on some of the digital subchannels (which it seems like my local NBC is using extensively for Olympic trials and the like). Still not convinced it works 100% but everything I've tried has been successful so far.

Only question for those who've tried to revive their Polaroid-- it seems that it needs a hard drive mounting braket, the screwholes in the base plate are just a bit off alignment either of the 2 HDs I checked... anyone have any good ideas for mounting a HD more permanently than, say, duct tape?

My Banjo of Consternation arrived today.

Not much of a surprise about what was inside, since I got the Kodak EasyShare 5300 All-In-One Printer, which came in the box. YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was also a Bluetooth earpice, the memory card holder and the birthday card with the hippos.

I was hoping I might get this. IT'S SUH-WEET.

THANKS WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really doesn't seem to matter if you are super quick. I have FiOS also, and I'm quick, but I only manage to nail the Basket of Cats about half the time. According to other discussions, when the Basket of Cats appears, Woot! gets in excess of 30,000 hits per second. Some of those will get through, some will get lost.

Some complain that Woot! should get faster servers. That really wouldn't help any particular person succeed in getting their bag of cräp, you'd just find out sooner if you got it or that you missed.

This time, Woot! had 5886 crappy items. 2180 people got in, calculating by the percent that ordered 3, 2, or 1. How many were trying? I would guess 10,000 to 20,000. So your odds are not great in any case.

Impressive job! Did you try Tyvek tape? It holds better than duct tape in most applications. I just used it to patch my backpack (no sewing required!)

"Was the humidifier beyond repair/use? "

The humidifier is a Honeywell that uses a heating pad to turn the water into steam. The case is fine, and nothing is obviously broken as far as I can see. When you put water in it and plug it in, the display does not come on when you push the power button. I plan to open it up and see if there are any loose wires, or if the safety shut off switch is broken.

But seriously folks.... as far as I can tell I may have received THE ONLY TUBE OF ACNE CREAM that was sent out during the birthday special. Talk about a rare prize. The only thing that would have been the "icing on the cake" would have been to get one of those little brown bags with the question mark on it.

I don't think I would even consider trading the Acne Cream for any of the mass-distribution items that went out, but I would think about a swap for a set of golf clubs. <grin>

Where else can you have this much for for $8?

But 4 year olds don't have acne... they need to wait until they are at least 13 for that kind of thing! (Or maybe that's why they don't need it and are willing to give it away...)

Seems like Woot just does it by what's most economical. My guitar et al arrived SmartPost despite the fact that it arguably would've been safer going straight FedEx. Thankfully, everything is intact. Unfortunately, the ship has sailed on trying to predict when Woot ships Fedex vs. SmartPost

My understanding seems to be that once you've entered your request, whether it be clicking "I want one", "this info is correct", or the stupid big yellow button, that you should wait rather than refreshing. I believe that your place in line is secured, and that refreshing will only cause you to lose your place.

Standard stuff - if I can get my cat in a picture I'll post one... not likely with Turbo-Scaredy-Kitty!

In any event, I'm thrilled with the first Blogging Old CEO I've been able to actually hit the button in time for:

The memory card holder (I'll give it to my kids to play with)
Some sort of nut-bird (I'm at work, only can remember it had nut in the name) - one of only 5000 made!! ;)
Poloroid 160GB DVR - score! with wires, manuals, and remote
Xbox headset
21 Bags of Pure Texas Air (now popped)

Question about the DVR - it was together, not with the top off as some here have received theirs, but how, other than it being apart, could you tell if it had the HD still? Just start it up and see? Thx!

I intercepted my package at the post office this afternoon... the lady was literally DRAGGING the box up to the front. As soon as I saw the box, I knew what is was.

I GOT A GUITAR!!

Also:
-Targus Memory Card Case
-Black and Decker Pocket Power (x1)
-3 bars of soap (Cashmire Bouquet) interesting... someone in Woot-land raid a Walgreen's or something?

Pictures later, as I'm at work right now.

ALL HAIL THE WOOT GODS!! AND THANK YOU AGAIN!!

p.s. There appears to be some damage to the neck of the guitar, as in it's barely hanging on to the base. Fortunately I know someone here at the office who fixes such things.
