Received from Woot in very good condition. Now that I have this MP3 player I would have paid $50 for it. It's amazing.

When I plug it in the USB port, the display comes up, the charging indicator works for a little bit, then the player stays on but the charging indicator stops moving (stays on "low") and the device does not charge. I left it plugged in several hours yesterday and it stills says "Low battery".
Also, the device will not show up in Explorer. I did get one notification that a new device was plugged in, but typically for USB drives, you get two notifications and I never got the second one and the device does not show up in Explorer. I use WinXP Pro SP2.
Any advice appreciated, otherwise I will have to return it, and that would be bad because of the good reviews.
Thanks in advance

Mine more or less does the same thing. Which makes me sad as this was my first ever woot.

This is the first and last time I will order from Woot until better shipping options are available. I can ship from the East coast a similar size package for a buck or two more and have it in three days.

I think I figured out my not charging problem. I have a 7 port USB hub and I was trying to charge it through that. It wasn't working as the supplied USB cable was just too short for me. So I used another USB cable supplied with a camcorder I bought earlier this year and it seems to be working(charging) now. Charging it through a front USB port as I type. WOOT I heart you. =)

I am haveing troubles with my player. The computer will not recognize the player. I havecontacted SanDisk and we have gone through all the steps. They then told me to try to return it to Woot. has anyone seen or heard of any fixes for the player to be read. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Ordered on 08/29
Tracking says delivery should be 09/12
USPS still says no as of 09/13
Maybe 09/15?

Really slow. I hope I don't receive a broken one like so many other posters.

What do you expect for next to nothing for shipping? I'm sure that WOOT takes a hit almost every time they ship something. This is nothing really. Try collecting sports cards. I win sports cards on eBay all the time (mostly from Canada) and sometimes it takes a month(sometimes longer I don't heart you Canada Post) to get here. So to me the wait. while somewhat inconvineient is nothing compared to other things.

I don't care how little I paid for shipping, this is a small item. I frequently order online and I have never had this happen except when something was back ordered. 10 days to go from Texas to Idaho? Mail was just delivered, nothing. You be the guinea pig for Smartpost AKA gettheresometimepost. This form of shipping stinks.

Just got mine today and it works perfectly. Whats more I'm thoroughly impressed with this thing. It is small, unobtrusive and holds way more then I would even think of loading into it. One surprise is how comfortable and well sounding the earplugs are. I figured I would have to buy a set of earplugs now I'm not going to bother, sounds great.

Anyways, thanks Woot for a great 1st purchase.

Got two yesterday.

Can't get WMP to recognize them - even though Windows Vista recognizes them as valid 'Portable Devices' and I can drag/drop files directly.

There's a recommended firmware update here (they use a "downloader" to detect your device and then push out the correct firmware):
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

Some people are having success rectifying detection issues with these:

My clip just suicided on me this morning. It wont turn on and wont charge. I've had it for about a week with no problems. I've tried several USB ports to no avail. I tried the FAQs but didn't see an explanation about RMA's. Should I go directly to Sandisk with this issue or Woot?

If i go with Woot, will I have to pay for shipping on a RMA?

Thanks in advance

I used mine 5 or 6 times, loved it. Then it just died. It didn't even say goodbye. Any tips on revival? I plug in the USB, nothing happens--the player doesn't respond, and the computer shows nothing there.

Add me to the list of folks who bought a player, had to wait an additional week to get it, and now it won't hold a charge.
I realize it was only $20, but still - if I buy something from Woot!, I expect it to at least be vetted enough to work.
Now I just need to figure out if it's worth going through the hassle of sending it back and asking for a refund.
Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks!

I realize I'm quoting myself, but wanted to perhaps help others out there who are having the "not holding a charge" problem. I had an additional, longer, USB power cord from my Rio Carbon 5GB. Used it instead of the little 6" that Sansa provided with the Clip, and it works like a charm.
Kudos who the person above who recommended this!
Hope this helps others having issues.

Good advice - I've got a Sansa e270 that was having intermittent issues, and a new usb cable solved the problems.

Am I missing something here? (besides the Sandisk Clip 2GB MP3 Player). The tracking information looks as if it has come to CA, bounced around to a number of different cities, then somehow ended up back in Dallas.

Smallville824, I just received an empty box 9"x6"x4", from Woot. By USPS, from Woot.com in Carrollton TX, brown corragated cardboard box, with ZIP USPS label, with the bottom retaped with 2" clear tape. Inside was a white corragated cardboard box, with a round adhesive seal , still intact, on the opening tab, one end of the box was crushed, and nothing was in the box.

What do I do now?

Got mine about a week ago.

Works great!

Sorry to read others are getting broken units.

For people having trouble charging via USB - try using a different USB port or even another computer. Some USB ports are not powered - or powered enough - for charging. And if your computer goes to "sleep" too quickly will cause it not to charge as well.

Hope this helps some of you.

Cheers, and take care,
