ooh, pretty! thanks a lot, everyone. I made an animated GIF with the ant crawling across it endlessly, but the background got all screwed up and I can't figure out how to fix it. too bad, it was going to be my GIF thumbnail. I gave up and submitted it. I had a flash shirt placement image, but they said it was too low resolution, so I abandoned that too.

sorry about the turtle. it can rally, though, it's still in the running.

what happened to the bg? perhaps too many colors for a gif, so it got dithered?

huh, that's weird.on my browser i see an ant moving upwards over a bg with ever-changing colors black, purpley, yellow), but when i pulled it up with gimp all i see is blacked out frames.

huh, it shows up as black in ie6.

That's what I see too- weird background colors. though parts of the ant are white instead of dark grey.

and completely black in IE 6 for me too.
and now, when I open it in photopaint, whcih is what I made it in, it's completely black.

I saw the same thing on my Mac (flashy colors), but now when I'm on my PC (both IE7 and Firefox 3) it shows up as black. Doing a color replace in JASC animation shop, I can see the ant as dots... Seems that when the animation was optimized for gif, the colors got reduced all the way down to 2. And both are really black (RGB 0 0 0 and RGB 14 14 14).

geez, something i threw in the derby got rejected. not really disappointed, 'cause it wasn't such a hot idea nor a very well done drawing, but the rejection reason seems stupid. "Rejected because: I see a leaf, but otherwise it seems off topic to me." well DUH, you could say that about every single derby entry ever. the reason is the same as "if you exclude everything about it that is on topic, it seems off topic to me." why don't they reject everything then?
