no1, you could go download the public beta and give it a whirl. The safe thing to do is install it in a virtual machine (such as created using VMWare), so you don't mess up your host machine.

I looked at it briefly, but yawned and deleted the VM. Not ready for prime time yet. And, though it will be an improvement over Vista, many of the security-oriented aspects will carry over. They will just be more subtle.

And anyone believing Redmond's claim that Win7 will run well on a netbook needs to have their critical thinking cap realigned. When we get to RC2 or better, then we'll have a much better idea of what real hardware requirements are.

Until then, I'll continue using my Vista 64bit host with my pack of XP guest VMs for all my LAST POST needs.
