Will this work on my dog? Hear me out here: I have a small terrier, whose midsection is no larger than the typical adult male's arm. Assuming I can find numbers online for the desired blood pressure for the little guy, will this product work? It is still being wrapped around flesh, blood veins, etc. Should be a similar type deal, right?

how acurate are these things?

My dad could use one . . .also he is pretty big. do the measurements sounds like they would be good for a big fella?

Really depends on the cuff size... if cuff is too small for your dad's arm, you'll get falsely high readings

I've been enjoying shopping on Woot for a couple of years now, and I'm well over 30.

No, it wont. this cannot be wrapped around midsection, even if you do, it will be dangerous for your dog. Try some of the smaller wrist BP cuffs around its leg.

The problem is that the dog breathes... if you put it around his chest, it would probably work more like a Boa Constrictor on him, and you'd still never get an accurate reading. Would funny to watch though...

Just found out today that my pregnant wife's blood pressure is a tad high and they want us to monitor it daily, so I was pricing these things out this afternoon.

I'm tempted.... The price looks great compared to the same item at Target or Amazon, etc., but I haven't ever heard of the brand and I can't find a single review for it.

I'll sleep on it....

I have this unit about a year and have compared its readings right next to my Dr's results and it was with in 3 points of what he got doing it the old fashion way. The Dr was happy with the results and I use it once daily to monitor my hypertension issues (two teenage daughter at home). Easy to use and results in less than 2 min. Only issue I had was the cuff was to small, I'm 6'5'' 400 lbs, 22" arms, but after contacting the manufacture they sent me a bigger cuff and all is good.

You should take the readings after setting for 15 min and be sure to put the cuff in the same place every time, this takes a little practice. No more concerns for the high readings at the Dr office as I would be nervous, now I can show the Dr a few weeks of tests for a much more accurate diagnoses and adjustment of my meds if needed. I do recommend this monitor if ya need one.
