It's kind of pricey and refurbed, but it does look pretty badass and powerful. Isn't that what really matters?

I believe this is the same model that my aunt has, and it's a beast! When you turn it on it dims the lights in her apartment. So either an awesome blender, crappy electrical, or both.

5 stars on Buzzillions...
http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_1584412_breville_ikon_die_cast_blender_reviews

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

"Will-it-blend?"

Check U-tube under "will-it-blend?" to see iPods, iPhones, and other bizarre objects being blended into iPowder. "Don't breathe this!"

Funny Woot! "New meme wanted." = "Will-it-blend"

I never could get the BlendTec guy to try this at Costco. We even gave him an old ipod, but he still wouldn't do it. I guess they really won't blend.

I actually have the same blender, just without the LCD... it's amazing. I first saw it on Top Chef, and when I finally got one (for about $150, used) I couldn't believe the difference between it and my old cheapo blender. IMO, it's an AWESOME deal.

Great price here, and overall great reviews, but the ones that have problems seem to report the same one: The blender tends to leak. The seals go bad quickly, and the bottom is very hard to screw on to make it watertight. About 10% seem to have reported this problem.

This isn't from personal experience (I don't own it)--just an attempt to summarize what I've read on it so far.

Being respiffed you can pretty much be assured that percentage will go up. Not to mention the damage from SLOWPOST.

I need a blender. If I buy this I don't have to go outside, just downstairs, to have one. I'm in!

To whomever bought three: Please invite me to your parties.

Blender dust, don't breathe this...

I have too many woots to list. First woot: 10/25/2004.

Here's an interesting discussion by raw foodies about the Breville, Blendtec, and Vitamix:

Then build your own. Geez... I was trying to be helpful. Also, apparently replacing the seal doesn't always help. It's more like a design flaw. And it's supposed to be a quality piece of equipment--not something you'd expect to have to do routine maintenance on. Are we cool?
