Thanks very much Storm! Yes, I came home from work and a confirmation email was waiting for me. Yay!

I Woot, therefore I am.

The only way that can work is if there were 5 purchases. Four for one, one for three, totaling 7, as is listed under "Total Woots".

I will admit, also, that "Total woots" in the comments section look like they would be total items. But, if that's the case, why does "total woots" by your name seem to reflect the number of orders placed and not the total number of items you've bought.

zen21tao wrote:Ok, I'll concede that "Total woots" could = total items. Then, why does the "Number or Woots" next to your screen name represent the number of orders you've place and not the quantity of items you've purchased?

No one said they were measuring the same thing.

For your purchases they count orders. For the woots in the item description it's items. Like I said before.....try working backward from the woot wage. Here's an example I posted for the Bandolier of Carrots on July 19th 2007 for 4500 WOOTS

$243,378.45 hourly wage / 60 = $4056.30 wage per minute
Each unit cost $1.00.
$4056.30 / 60 = 67.7 units sold per second.

4500 total units sold /67.6 units per second = 66.56 seconds from start til sellout.

Because not everything in the world in internally consistent? *shrugs* Don't ask me, it doesn't make sense to me either, but the evidence makes it impossible for any other way to be true. I only just got my black square with this woot off; I would have had it months ago if quantity ordered mattered, and yet, it's impossible to split 7 into 20/80 or 20/20/20/40.

Sooooo....it's seems like woot is just crazy. But we already knew that. :-)

Ok, then I will bow my head and admit defeat. I based my thinking on the definition of "woots" as represented by the status box next to one's name. Aparently, "woots" has two different meanings.... nice

Anyone know if there is a C# command or to control the power in a USB port? Would be cool to automate these puppys to come on when a woot off starts. Could always go with a usb PIC and a relay if need be.
