It is pretty funny how everyone can be chatting and then VOOM! Everyone's gone. Like me right now, since I gotta get up in 7 hours

Night all, hope you all wake up to a warmer tomorrow with less ice.

Yeah, but..but Zea comes on and says Hi. I say Hi back. And she disappears. She didn't want me to say hi?

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Our car freezes bad, one of the reasons getting a new car is on the priority list. Once temps get near freezing we can't lock the doors. Not only will the locks freeze but the door mechanism freezes, and without being able to disengage the lock there is no chance of getting the doors to thaw enough for them to latch again should you get the door open (yes this a problem!!!!) I am sadly proficient at driving a stick shift while holding the door shut because the mechanism isn't thaw enough. Some mornings it can take up to 45 minutes to get the doors to close (only driver and passenger).

Of course, I was planning on using our other car this winter, but it developed an "allergy to the cold", so it's been parked because no one trusts it to get it's tires off the campus parking lot at the end of the day.

No1 and Poof, I'm glad to be missed.

Well now we gotta try to get the kids to bed, and then I might try to throw an application together for a job that is basically already someone else's, but I should apply and just mess with them on principle.

Wonder if some of that Silicone Lubricant sprayed in there when it's not freezing would help when it is freezing. I've had good luck with this stuff on household door locks. It's what the locksmith recommended rather than using graphite.

Edit: Worked great on the garage door opener tracks and wheels too. Much better than WD40

How sad is that?
Colbert just did the strangest interview with Paul McCartney.
Man, that guy is enjoying his job.

eh, the big problem is the mechanism inside the door freezes, not so much the lock.

Take the door panel off to get to the mechanism and spray it.

Then just spray it in from the opening that the latch sticks through on the door edge.

Poor little Kia.

I know this is way after the fact, but I didn't really have time for woot for about 3-4 months at the end of last year and never heard... why are all the threads labelled now? "Silliness", "Talk/Blog", "Word Game"; where did this all come from?

I think it was back when we had a bunch of new people showing up. Someone (don't remember who) thought it might be helpful if we put tags on the threads to help newbies.

Oh, ok. I was going to saw newbies should be shoved from the nest on day one, but then I realized that I could have been left to figure this out on my own too. Instead, I say for every question asked by a newbie they should be asked three in return.

edit: thanks!

FB has crashed IE7 a couple times on me in the past. Seems to get Flash all confused (the program, not the dog). I downloaded Flash again to see if that would help.

It gets more time outs then all the kids on the street combined. Nah, it's time to take away it's "last chance" and just buy a router. Almost got one off newegg, but Orc had issues with his login before they sold out.

If you're going to get a new one, the "N" is way worth it! The wireless speed is remarkable. Of course, you have to have N wireless adapters but you can upgrade those later since it'll be the new standard before long.

Durnit. Just found an opening for a job that pretty much matches my qualifications and pays more than my current gig. It was posted 3 days ago, and normally I'd figure the position's still open, but they made it a point to write "immediate opening."

I'll submit my stuff, but I hope I'm not too late. What do ya'll think?
