Interesting. It only picked up the last bit of your post, after all the quoting of deepspace-whatsizname that you did. Pity.
Still, as the voice of reason, I'd say that there's been a lot of wasted emotion. Green, orange, who cares? When it initially started, it was difficult to navigate, and to read, but it has been improving over time. I wish that they'd offered a beta, and done a whole lot more testing, instead of just springing it on everyone, but there it is.
I'm waiting to see what happens during a woot-off, and wish they'd move the side deal thing up on the main page, but otherwise I think it's okay now. I can read stuff, I can make forum posts, and most of what's left is petty annoyances.
Wasting the right hand column while I'm editing a post is still pretty annoying. They could have that goofy bit at the top of the middle column, and let the editing be two columns wide. My guess is that who ever is building this just doesn't know how to do it.
Whatever. As I said, it's an annoyance, not a deal breaker. Every once in a while I use a more modern browser to look, just out of curiosity, but (excepting the crazy w.i.d.t.h) it's not any big deal.
On the other hand, there's a few folk that seem to have drawn a line in the sand, and want it put back no matter what. I'd say that the tempest in a teapot will calm down, and either they'll get used to it, or not, and life will go on.
It takes months to find a customer, but only seconds to lose one.
The good news is that we should run out of them in no time.
