These are really bad. I wish I could say they were awesome so they would sell out but no. I bought a new one on amazon last year for around the same price and had to return it. If you love a good shot of espresso do not buy this machine! No crema, flimsy and a weird impossible to clean filter. I feel sorry for anyone who buys this because it cannot be returned.

Bought one for my spouse (and me) for xmas, we have been nothing but happy with it so far. Be sure to not grind too fine, you can tell that was the issue w/ lots of the bad reviews. We grind to the smallest setting on out cuisinart burr grinder (which is not nearly as small as some grinders can go). Also w/ the odd double filters this thing has(they have a double walled bottom that is supposed to make a better crema)you don't need to tamp the same 40-50 lbs pressure like you normally would, just use the plastic one that comes w/it and tamp it down some to keep it set in place. Hope that helps a bit. Lots of good notes out there on this one as well, so if you buy it do some looking around.

Does the same guy who refurbishes these things also clean out the crust from the previous owner?

that is not the case. columbus started banning smoking in bars, and it spread like smallpox ridden blankets throughout the entire state.

I'm a decent shot, but I prefer a simple 9mm. My b/f has a .40 Taurus that's a bit rough on the wrists...

I only shoot on ranges. I don't like to hunt. My 14 yo daughter hunts, though. She's not comfortable with long guns so she shoots with a .357 revolver (for obvious safety reasons).

Alright, I stand corrected on Candy the Stripper being a woot-killer -- she was up for less than an hour. It just seemed like not a lot had gone on overnight, and she was on when I got up, so I just assuachmed that she was the problem. And you know what happens when you assuachmed -- you make an ass out of you and Achmed.
