You can get a Jack Lalanne Power Juicer for close to this amount of money. And look at that guy.

I found that the Bacon Salts tastes good when cooked IN to things, but not so much when sprinkled ON to things like you would table salt.

So, I put it on meat before cooking (oven or grill) and in things that get mixed and/or cooked. But, I don't keep it at the table for seasoning on my plate. Just an FYI...

DODTracker.com lists this under "Computers & Electronics" so it must be USB powered. . . or at least have an ESATA connection

carol2bs1grl wrote:Sold! That is...if he can fix a faucet.....no water pressure for months now in a bathroom sink and I don't want to pay a plumber!

Don't even get me started on plumbers....

I'll tell you the story anyways.

For about 2 years the toilet in our middle floor bathroom did not work. We finally decided to hire a plumber (handyman, really) to fix it. He showed up to fix it about a month after he said he would, but he needed to order some parts. About 2 months later he came and fixed the toilet. He decided that the sink needed to be replaced as well (don't know why, it worked just fine). So he came and put a brand new sink in, but the problem was that the sink stuck out too far, so the door couldn't clear the sink. (keep in mind, the bathroom is about a 4x5 square. yeah, its tiny) Thus, leaving the bathroom door stuck open. Well 2 months later, he comes back with a new sink, that fits. So after about 6 months of waiting, our toilet was finally fixed. Along with a brand new sink that we didn't need. I'm thinking we should have called someone else and had just the toilet fixed considering it would have taken maybe 3 days instead of 6 months.

beautyofmachines wrote:Okay so I'm no juicing expert, but I'm baffled. What does a motor do for this thing? I thought it was just a press, where you push down on the lever and it manually squeezes all the juice out. Where does the motor come in? Does the cone-shaped thing in the middle spin? Does it help you push the lever down? Does it just whir and hum and sound fancy schmancy?

yes, the center spins to maximize the juice extraction. The various filters that you can insert allow more or less of the pulp to flow through.

This is a decent citrus press for the citrus novice but a real press should be made out of machined stainless steel. The active arm system they use with this press is laughably short it should be at least 3 inches longer and have Kevlar inserts for added strength. The weak 1 hp motor used with this unit is a joke. I actually use a Prius attachment for all my presses, it attaches to the driveline and Toyota rates it at 55hp.

But it's really good on baked potatoes and cheese fries...it's just not as salty as table salt. The cheddar, jalapeno and maple flavors are my faves.
