The 500 series are much better. Ours does very well on fringe and rubber bands haven't been a problem- it just gobbles them right up.

I have had a roomba for 4 years. I LOVE IT!!! It is a discovery series and they have made many improvements since then so I can only imagine how good this one is. If it came with a scheduler I would be sold!

I need Lighthouse technology to keep those darn carpet schooners from crashing into my furniture!

Just make sure you don't have any loose carpet threads sticking up anywhere. I presume you know that if you DO have loose threads sticking up, you cut them off with scissors, you don't pull it?

I love my roomba! Its not perfect, but it keeps my carpet clean and fluffy, like a just-washed towel. I bought 2 to give as gifts.
