funny, but NOT guilty. I drove to work this morning, and turned on my computer, and got this sort of burning smell, and unplugged it. I then investigated for 90 minutes, plugging in and unplugging various parts. Some times I get a screen that instructs me to hit the delete key to enter the setup, but mostly I get loooooong beeps, and a constant indicator for the hard drive without the hard drive making any sound, so it isn't on.
I think my motherboard is hosed, I hope the hard drive is still OK.
I came home, hard drive in hand, and will attempt to install it here to see if it is still funcitonal. If it is, then I wll do some scrambling to build a new computer at work on the cheap, since my budget specifically prohibits me from buying computer stuff or software.
I do wonder who that is moanin' on the contest page, as they seem to be channeling my complaints with those 2 winners and a lot of people's unhappiness with the judging in general. There also seems to be a bias in the judging for giving the wins now to new people who have not entered before. I'm afraid to post anything now, as I complain too much, even if it is a bit more subtle. or maybe not subtle, but less direct.
