I once mentioned that the clips on the ekg machine looked like roach clips - the vet stared at me in disbelief - thought I musta knowed more than I was lettin on...hadda tell him that I knew the term from my dad - he said the bums and hobos used to use them - to pick up 'roaches' (cigarette and cigar stubs) and smoke em!

Predates the 60's roach clip by a few years!
