Eww...I have a hard time eating lobster. I don't have the heart to crack it in half. My favorite meat in the lobster is the claws.

Get stone crab claws. They catch the crabs, break off the big claw, throw the crab back to grow another one. really good.

When you're in Japan, you pretty much have to eat what they give you. Virtually no-one speaks English, there are no signs in English. Virtually everything they eat is from the water. Much of the time you have no idea what it even is.

and the sashimi is like a different food than here. It is a terrible thing to eat it there and then come back here and try to recreate it here. never have had it again like there. Certainly their best food is the varieties of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, etc.

I dunno...I just associate the two of you together...rarely apart...like twins in a sandbox.

gee - thanx...

First - gimme back my beer, and second - looks like I have to defrost one of my Alaskan King Crab legs tonight.

Now I'm hankering for seafood.

And yes, just one leg - cause the freak legs I bought literally have a full cup of meat in them.

kind of like answering your own posts? :)

anyway, I am not the man. If I were, maybe I'd have a better feel for the photoshop judging.

I don't think the last few contests have really interested him. seems like his entries are pretty few. I noticed this week there were really not too many entries at all. after my BW montage turned out to not be as original as I thought, guaranteeing it couldn't win, I couldn't really maintain my own interest enough to put together much quality.

LOL! Do you realize how often life and art intertwine? Sometimes, when I am listening to someone talk, I create this visual pictures, much like the one above. It is a curse!

exactly right.
I was reading the posts about eyeballs on a plate, and got pretty much this image in my head. I wanted a painting of a plate, not an actual sushi/sashimi plate, and those eyeballs from that paining to go on there. I found this perfect sushi plate online, painted with California rolls painted in, and just worked right over it. It is perfectly executed from what I saw in my head.

I talk to myself on occasion. I smile at inappropriate times. I boogie to the MP3 player when I am alone. And to the cats' dismay, I sometimes sing a tune. Yeah, I answer my own posts...that's what it means to be a "misfit." No social etiquette to follow.

Yeah, I would have to agree that I wasn't really interested in the last two. The romance thing was done once the first image was posted. You knew they were going to have the same look and feel. I just felt like being difficult and creating something contrary to the topic.

If I were going to do a serious chop last week, it would have involved the vacuum for sure.

The mariachi thing was okay, but on the dull side. Putting the mariachis in a mundane situation really isn't all that funny. Besides the mariachi photos were slim pickins.

I like when the contest is more open. I don't know if I like the tight parameters that people have been asking Jason to come up with.

I enjoy Photoshopping with the rest of you guys, but I am kind of tired of incorporating a dull woot item.

It is kind of a psychology experiment in there. You never know what is going to come out. It is like a big adult mud pit.

This reminds me...

I took a drawing class in college. I had to do a still life. I bought a fish...I couldn't even touch it. Some guy in my class unwrapped it for me and set it up.

I am a girl in that way. I don't touch slimy or dead things. I admire their beauty, but it kinda freaks me out.

I don't "do" gypsy moth catepillars, centipedes, moles, snakes or frogs.

I am terrified of death.

As a kid, I would hold my breath going past cemetaries.

At my grandmother's wake, I hid behind the flowers. I tried to keep my eyes away from the coffin, but I couldn't help but stare. I thought I saw her breathe. A visual anxiety, I guess.

Still to this day, I am weird about this whole topic.

Last year, my husband & I went to a funeral for a 13 yr. old who died of triple-E (Eastern Equine Encephalitis). That was very sad. To think a mosquito could kill you!

You would like "fractals" then...

I love fractals.

I was trying to find some more photos to hang in here. There was a PBS program about creatures of the deep that are even unnamed & unstudied. There was this really fantastic red & purple creature (a cross between a jelly fish and an octopus/squid) that is located in the warmer waters near Asia, I wish I could find a photo of it.

Give me a nature program anyday...that and reality TV.

um, yeah. occasionally the gaps in peoples' experiences are surprising, huh?

I can HEAR that song in my head now, no thanks to AZ.

Spiders and Snakes
Jim Stafford

I remember when Mary Lou said
"You wanna walk me home from school"
And I said, "Yes, I do"
She said, "I don't have to go right home
And I'm the kind that likes to be alone
As long as you would"
I said, "Me, too"

And so we took a stroll
Wound up down by the swimmin' hole
And she said, "Do what you want to do"
I got silly and I found a frog
In the water by a hollow log
And I shook it at her
And I said "This frog's for you"

She said, "I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
You fool, you fool
I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I want to be loved by you"

Well, I think of that girl from time to time
I call her up when I got a dime
I say, "Hello, baby"
She says, "Ain't you cool"
I say, "Do you remember when
"And would you like to get together again"
She says, "I'll see you after school"

I was shy and so for a while
Most of my love was touch and smile
Til she said, "Come on over here"
I was nervous as you might guess
Still looking for somethin' to slip down her dress
And she said, "Let's make it perfectly clear"

She said, "I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
You fool, you fool
I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me
Like I want to be loved by you"
