I remember how ticked people were getting when the Metro North RR wasn't working because of the snow... it would seem so simple, but the MTA didn't have the money. didn't bother me though, i didn't use it. as long as the subways were working or i could catch a ride with someone, or at least a bus, i was fine...

Thing is...money is always going to be an issue. I am trying to think of how many people I know, personally, that are tradespeople. I can only think of one. Most are into computers or services. No one wants to do the hard labor. That's why it takes plumbers and carpenters weeks to get back to you and they make enormous amounts of money.

HA! HA! You said it, not me.

I would never advise a young couple buying their first house to get an older home (especially in a historic district).

It is crazy here, people buy more than they can afford to take on.

Exams suck, but hey, it will be over eventually...then comes real life.

Good luck at the dentist, hopefully the appointment isn't before your exam.

I need to get some kind of thing to do "auto-refresh," any suggestions?

Make sure to bring a papertowel with you to the exam. I am not sure, I'd have to check, but I think drooling detracts points from your final score. (I used to be a teacher.)

There was a thread that discussed such a utility, I'll bump it if I find it. Otherwise, F5 on most computers will refresh the page.

If you use Firefox, you might try the ReloadEvery extension... haven't tried it myself, but that looks like the ticket...

Post-secondary. (I don't want to mention the subject as it may incriminate me.)

Bumped, can't vouch for any of the stuff mentioned, though. There are enough code savvy people involved that if there were anything shady (malware, etc), I'm sure it would have been brought up.

oo, i'm thinking of minoring in entrepreneurship... i have an idea for a company, or rather, software product, but i would start a company to work on it. the thing is though, i wouldn't make it through the classes until fall 2007, and can't even start down the path until fall 2006, and i'd really rather not wait that long. maybe i'll do a comp-sci minor and try to take more of the programming on myself, but i still think what i want will be beyond my abilities. i'm leaning most toward minoring in french and economics... i already have a class done for each of them, and i've enjoyed them

Which university do you attend? There are many universities in Massachusetts that allow you to design your own program.

i don't usually give out my school online... nothing personal, and i'm sure someone could figure it out pretty easily, or hazard a good guess, but...
most minors i've looked into are pretty flexible and have a range of courses, but this one has only the 5 and they must be taken in proper order... the first two are best to take together, the second two must be taken together and should be taken immediately following the first two, and they're only offered in the spring, the last is more flexible, but it's pretty much tagging along with another entrepreneur... they feel they have a good program, and it sounds like they do teach useful things, but it's not very helpful to someone who'd like to go ahead and do the market research now, not in 2-3 years, and be starting on the actual coding soon, maybe even next semester. i think i'm going to keep checking my options... first thing to do is get a lawyer to cover my back on the IP stuff i guess... i don't want to end up with a facebook/ConnectU situation on my hands...

No problem re: school. I just don't understand why you don't transfer somewhere else if the university can't offer what you want?

Wow, I can't believe the inactivity tonight. It must be the World Series. I am a "homer", if it isn't my team, I am not interested.

Generally, I only care for baseball.

The ticket disclaimer usually absolves the team/park from any liability...if someone gets whacked hard they usually give them a signed bat/ball/jersey to ease the pain a bit.
