they are - and very intelligent too! I read about one who would get himself out of his aquarium at night and go down and eat stuff in another tank....they didn't know what was happening to the other creatures until they set up a video camera one night!

where I am now is strictly a cat and dog practice

at the humane society we got all kinds, but the strangest - was a red-tailed hawk...folks had hit it, picked up the unconscious bird and drove it to us....it recovered right after they came in the building - imagine what would have happened if it had recovered in their car! We caught it and took it to a wildlife vet

a vet friend of mine raises exotics...snakes and lizards and stuff...she has the pacman frogs - they have teeth!

Imagine if you had to take care of every deer that got hit...Yeah, if it recovered in the car, it would have led to some scratched out eyeballs...
