Yeah, too long can be irritating. Faking it is never good. A good plan is to spend most time on the "before" stuff so it doesn't take too long.

Long = raw, repetitive and boring.

Quickies = fun, spontaneous and memorable.

Sometimes it's better off to wait till next time. I had some issues where I was like the energizer bunny, but could tell that it was a matter of "hey I got my side of the chinese dinner so..."

Sorry to blow up some misconceptions on the guys side - but there are times when asking for recess isn't a bad thing.
